Visited today and decided we might like a lunch outside. Found this place because the meat looked lovely.
We ended up with a salad box to take away.
My ploughman’s Box contained salad, chutney, two different cheeses, cooked ham, a full pork pie, and pickled onions. It was AMAZING!
Hubby had a chicken salad box and it contained heaps of coronation chicken and salad.

Oh wow is all I can say. We visited bakewell today and came into your store. We spent a little over £50 on some bits. Lamb cutlets I have never tasted meat so fresh. Lasagna is amazing. Absolutely not disappointed and would highly recommend. You may be a good distance away but will be worth the travel for quality. Staff are very polite and helpful. Shop is immaculate

I feel like this is a hidden gem in Bakewell!

We wanted to have a late breakfast but kind of fed up with pub food and pastry at this point. I wanted to check this butcher out for local produce but assumed they only sell food that needs cooking. Then I saw there was a hot cabinet from the outside and the sign said pulled pork with apple sauce in a baguette!! I was like that’s exactly what I wanted.

It turned out to be potentially the best sandwich ever. It had lots of tender meat (very generous), stuffings and apple sauce in a big (long) crispy baguette. It was £5.5 or something , which was a great value for what I got.

You must come here for the sandwich, you won’t regret it. I’d love to get their chicken sandwich next time.

Best rump steak I have ever eaten! Bought steaks, sausage,bacon,lamb and of course pork pie and sausage rolls, everything like meat should taste like. Disclaimer here,I worked for the Armstrong family over 40 years ago when Tom and Mary were in charge, fabulous to find the family are still farming and selling 1st rate produce,will definitely be back even though it's a 40 minutes drive!

The best sausages I have ever tasted are from here ...I love the Pride of the Peak chippolata Sausages garlicky and herby perfect fir making my own homemade runny Scotch Eggs ..Congratulations Ginger Butchers you are The Best 👌

OMG, bought a pan handle steak at the weekend, some quality plus Mr Butcher vac packed just in case, pan fried and oven cooked tonight for 40 mins, owe myself a Michelin star 😋 2 quiches with their homemade potatoes salad and coleslaw for Sunday night, just incredible. Looking forward to Barnsley Chios tomorrow nite 🤘

Excellent customer service, very knowledgeable staff and can trace their products right back to the farm. I got some beef mince, 2 garlic and black pepper chicken breasts and 4 Matlock Bangers (called into the Matlock branch but can't seem to find it on Google Maps) which is the leftover meat that doesn't quite make it through the sausage casing machine so it has its own flavour and then subtle flavours of all the other sausages that have been through it, sounded delicious!
