Very nice location. Impressive drive to the hotel. Beautiful views and surroundings. Very polite staff on all levels. Excellent equipment at the gym. Very good breakfast. Nice size room. Comfortable bed.
Down side: lighting around desk if you want to work was a bit poor. Rubbish in the bin from previous guest in the bedroom and no fridge.

Dunston Hall cinema was a great event to visit. Great film and it was made easy to enjoy.
It was well set out and the quality of the picture and sound was good.
The toilets were in good condition and there was plenty of toilet roll.
There were some food options, see pictures, but there were some decent sized queues.
We would definitely come to another film event here again.

The building is really really beautiful and the grounds are impressive. There is plenty of parking on site.
However, navigating this hotel is quite a nightmare because the signs in the lift are wrong. I couldn't fathom how this hasn't been amended when it is so obviously wrong! We passed lots of confused guests.
I found the whole hotel to be quite accessible for me as an ambulant wheelchair user (forgiving the lift fiasco) and the room was spacious and clean. The beds were huge and very comfortable.
There are spa facilities (a large pool, hot tubs, gym) which were...nice? I didn't find the changing rooms to be in great repair and not the standard I would expect in a 'luxury hotel' but the pool was nice with ambient lighting.
We opted to go to a local restaurant as the hotel restaurant menu didn't appeal hugely.
The breakfast was average as hotel breakfasts go! The usual offering, a selection of cereals, toasts, a few pastries, cooked breakfast. Given the pomp of the setting I perhaps would have expected something a little more exuberant even in terms of presentation.

My wife, daughter and I stayed for 3 nights, after a room mix up was quickly sorted out by the reception staff our stay was most enjoyable. The room was clean and comfortable with a good sized TV, mini fridge, safe and a good selection of teas and coffees. Beds were very comfortable and we were not disturbed so a good night's sleep was had by all.
Breakfast is self service and a good selection of hot and cold food is available. The evening meal was excellent on all three nights and can fully recommend the mussels from the starters ( this can also be eaten as a main on request), the fillet steak was the best steak I've had in some time.
Overall our stay was great and we all agree that we would revisit without hesitation.

Clubhouse & Catering: Finding the place with Sat-Nav was straightforward, but navigating the parking between the hotel and the golf course was confusing for a first-time visitor. Once I got to the right place there was plenty of parking. The site was delightful, boasting a charming Victorian Mansion surrounded by rolling hills and mature, thick woodland. The golf course and facilities looked to have been here for a few years and suggested a lot of careful maintenance and nurturing. The Pro shop was well-equipped, offering a comprehensive range of golfing essentials, and the staff were really welcoming and helpful. I used the toilets, which were very clean. Although I didn't dine in the clubhouse, the presence of a bar hinted at a pleasant post-game beer spot.

Quality of the Course: The course layout was enjoyable, offering a balance of challenge and charm, suitable for golfers of all levels. Strategic elements such as water hazards, elevated greens, and tree-lined fairways added to the course's allure. It surpassed my expectations. Despite encountering some drainage issues on a couple of fairways and quite a few tee boxes in poor condition, the overall condition of the parkland course remained commendable, with the greens receiving particular praise. Clear signage facilitated navigation between holes, and the Proshop staff provided helpful guidance in part of the course where you may have got lost, before starting play. Notable highlights included the exhilarating driveable par 4 5th on to the elevated green, the picturesque journey through the pine trees on the back 9, and the challenge presented by the 16th hole (almost onto an island green).

Practice Facilities: While I didn't personally use them. I noticed the presence of a putting green near the 1st tee and a substantial driving range, catering to the needs of players seeking to refine their skills.

Value for Money: The overall experience at the course left a positive impression, with a welcoming atmosphere and enjoyable gameplay. The opportunity to play for free using a Golfcare voucher added further value to the experience, making it a memorable outing for all involved. Iā€™d be happy to play here again.

The place was beautiful, staff were super polite and helpful. The room that I stayed in was very clean, modern and spacious. Spa was great but would like a hotter sauna please. Due to the bad weather the course wasn't in the condition that I expected to see and the back 9 was closed on the first round. The Greens had recently been holatyned, so weren't running well. This is a necessary action, so will hopefully revisit when better. Overall though it was a great weekend with great company.

Very friendly and helpful staff, first room we had smelt like fag smoke. But the cleaners had gone home and so we were upgraded to another room. The pillows are just awful, in both rooms and both mattresses were soooo uncomfortable. Even in the first room, which had a mattress topper. But the mattress in the second room didn't and you could feel EVERY... SINGLE... SPRING šŸ™ pool and sauna facilities were very nice, bit dirty around certain parts of the pool though and top step into the pool was broken. We had food from bar menu and it was very nice. Don't think I'll be returning though anytime soon
