Great location, wonderful staff, extremely comfortable rooms and beds. I really enjoyed the lovely scent throughout the place. My pup was fantastically cared for as well with treats and breakfast. Close and walkable to everything nearby and great to have parking. Live jazz in the bar was a nice touch. Breakfast was lovely as well. Highly recommend!

Stayed for one night, lovely room however TV had a damaged screen but we were upgraded to another room promptly. Rooms are well presented and has mostly what you need. No mini fridge though if you need one.
Service was excellent, staff were very attentive and friendly.
We stayed for dinner and drinks. Be mindful, there's a 12.5% service charge every time you attend the bar to get a drink, we didn't get told this until checkout the following day!
Overall, a pleasant experience, perfect location to walk to all the main attractions. We also had the complementary drive around the city in a very old car. Driver was nice and knowledgeable. Would I return.. yes! 😁

We had a Bentley ride and an afternoon tea - both absolutely lovely. A ride with Zane was smooth and comfortable, he told us about the central places in Cambridge that are better unvestigated on foot, and rode us through beautiful nearby villages we wouldn't probably see without the ride. The afternoon tea was a wonderful little ceremony with delicious food and drink. The staff are helpful, friendly, polite. The hotel is tidy and stylish.
Moreover, the ride and tea were donated by the hotel to a cancer charity as a gift - that says a lot.

I can confidently say this was one of the best stays I’ve had this year! I chose this hotel to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were greeted with impeccable courtesy and attention! The dinner was simply outstanding – I had one of the best steaks in the UK, and the burrata transported me straight to Italy. We paired it with a perfectly balanced French rosé wine.||The bar service was exceptional, and they even surprised us with a lovely petit gâteau for the birthday candles! We stayed in the Gresham House Villa, a wonderful room with classic and elegant décor. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with Prosecco and delicious petit fours – a thoughtful touch that made all the difference.||Breakfast was also spectacular, offering a wide variety of freshly prepared options. I highly recommend the Eggs Royale and the Shakshuka. The staff were incredibly attentive, with a special mention to Hayden, who was exceptionally kind and helpful.||I will definitely return to the Gonville whenever I visit Cambridge!

Lovely staff; excellent place to write. Quite close to the city centre; just lovely! Room service was excellent, and there’s an espresso machine in room. Toiletries smell fantastic; all the little details have been well-considered. Easy to extend stay if needed, bravo!

Stayed on New Year's Eve, and was initially worried that it might get noisy at night with the party hosted in the restaurant, but that was not the case at all. The room was very quiet and we had a great night sleep.

Our room overlooked the car park, so not much of a view. But the room itself was very clean, comfortable, and spacious.

Would definitely consider staying again on our next visit to Cambridge.

My wife celebrated her birthday with a night in central Cambridge.||We have stayed in several Cambridge hotels before but decided to try the Gonville due to its location and reasonable prices.||Our room was super comfortable and we had a bath and shower which was a bonus. We ordered room service (the Tempura prawns were really tasty!). ||The Gonville is a short walk to the shops and bars, restaurants in town and you can walk over via Parker’s Piece which the hotel looks over at the front.||We really enjoyed the choice at breakfast and the “Full Gonville” is highly recommended!||The staff were really friendly and helpful and the atmosphere of the hotel was very relaxed - January is a good time to relax after a busy Christmas time.

Having stayed in hundreds of hotels in the UK I can honestly say this was one of the best i have stayed in. |Ruben on arrival when hearing it was my wife’s birthday arranged an upgrade, a birthday card in the room and a complimentary macaroons with chocolates and candle in the room. The team around Ruben could also not do enough for us to make our visit extra special.|When booking request that you get a tour in the 1953 Bentley as this was given to us on our departure and it did not disappoint and Zane the Chauffer is a true gentleman, a man of the world and perspicacious of Cambridge. If Zane don’t know it isn’t worth knowing.|You will not be disappointed and we will be definitely returning!
