The hotel was the NCO Mess, so anyone with any connection with the RAF will great a buzz staying here. ||The room was excellent. A good size with plenty of room to move about. Everything was spotless and was very warm. ||Breakfast was excellent. We opted for just cereal and toast which you can help yourself to. The cooked breakfast we saw being served were good portions. ||For the price, we will definitely be staying again, infact we have already booked for a return visit. A great base to see family up north.

Stayed here , 3 of us in one room, we were quite dubious due to reviews but boys on a bike trip we just needed to put our head down.|We were pleasantly surprised, place was clean tidy and refurbished and the beds were very comfy. Bathroom was a little dated but shower was hot and strong enough. Bar was fine and breakfast was cereal and croissant which was fine.|Very good value for money and would definitely use again if ever that way.|

A fabulous meal at the Terminal 1 Thai restaurant at Goosepool Cafe. Friendly staff and authentic Thai food. We had a table for 9 and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We are already planning a return visit. This is a real hidden gem that's worth checking out. Lots of choice, time between courses to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. 100% recommend this to anyone who appreciates Thai cuisine. Fantastic

Arrived late in the evening for a one night stay, staff member was welcoming booked us in and told where our room was. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and quiet, the bed could do with replacing but on the whole a nice room especially for the price. Breakfast in the morning of cereal, tea and brioche with nice friendly staff. Would stay here again.

The Goosepool is a great place to stay for a night or two. The staff are friendly and helpful and the price reflects the standard of décor and location, its value for money, not the Ritz! Despite it being an Airport hotel, my stay was extremely quiet and the hotel felt secure and secluded.

This is the second time we have been for Sunday lunch at the Goosepool Hotel. We live in the village, Middleton St George and walked down. The cooked meats were tender and good quality, the choice of veg was good and it was nice and fresh. It was clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful. Great experience!

First class carvery, excellent levels of customer service. Will most definitely be returning. Great choice of drinks and as for the desert, well I can honestly say the pavlova was mouth watering. Thank you for such a lovely lunch.

What an experience. ||||I used to stay here on business. It has always been a bit cheap n cheerful but now it’s just cheap!||||It’s always been a bit of a contractors hotel but they have found a new breed of contractor from the 1970swith an attitude that beggars belief!||||From the top......||||Arrived and could not find our booking. Eventually they did.||No help with luggage||Got to the room and it was cold. Really cold and damp.||Mould in the bathroom and room window.||Stains on the ceiling||No shower gel and soap||No biscuits||One tea bag||But that didn’t matter because there was no milk||The heater would not work||The TV did not work||The room had not been cleaned correctly||No WiFi DESPITE BEING TOLD THER WAS||I had to work in the bar. MISTAKE!!!!!!||||Several contractors with a very limited social voabuary but an exceptional knowledge of expletives. And it was every other word, “want a ing beer Dave”, “ yeah I’m ing dry”. “See the ing match? What a bunch of ***ts. And so it went on.||||I did manage to rune it out but it was constant and offensive. ||||IF you can find a member of staff you could complain but when I eventually managed to find someone they were not keen to do anything.||||Sleep was ok but chilly and the hot water in the morning was luke warm. The trick apparently is to shower the night before. Who knew? Maybe they should put it in the guest info folder. Oh wait no guest folder either.||||The place is in the middle of nowhere which makes for a very quiet night which is fine for me. But I would have thought not so great for anyone worried about their safety or families.||||The secure mental hospital didn’t bother me but the alarm goes off sometimes signalling an escape. The officers or nurses or whatever they are at such places then comb the grounds.||||The airport isn’t too bad as at night they do not fly but in the day they do. The jet school flies throughout so that can be noisy.||||Breakfast is very patchy. When it’s good it’s goid. When it’s bad it’s dire.||||The ‘old’ team are not there now. Perhaps that’s why it’s worse than it’s been in years. Who knows.||||I will be staying 1 mile down the road in future
