We enjoyed the afternoon tea immensely. There was a splendid range of sandwiches with soft, delicious bread, as well as quiche, salad and we were offered dressings of our choice. The scones were delicious and we had to take home the cakes as the meal beat us! Warm, friendly service from a dedicated team. Highly recommended.

The salad came without dressing and we were told "there's no olive oil" when we asked twice for a dressing. Eventually we got a nice vinaigrette after asking at the counter.

The wait for a simple food order was far too long and the place wasn't even very busy.

Coffee's were good for the price and the kids meal was good too.

Gordon Riggs, Todmorden The Afternoon Tea was the best we have had and a very reasonable price at £19.99. There were 20 of us in total and everyone enjoyed it. It was a hot day and there were many other customers for the staff to look after but they couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant.

Booked afternoon tea for my birthday treat on a Sunday afternoon. We couldn't have been happier with our experience. The food was fantastic (we ended up taking cakes home as there was so much - the staff kindly put our leftovers in the fridge while we went round the garden centre!). Joanne looked after us beautifully, offering me alternative sandwich fillings when I didn't want salmon. Can't wait to go again!

Lovely centre but our trip was ruined by the kitchen closing 30 minutes early than advertised. We'd gone with our baby for a day out and some food and were left stuck for something to do for dinner.

I have been coming to this tea room for years, but would like to know why there is no heating on at the moment. The windows are full of condensation and the roof is dripping water, condensation again I presume). This cafe has never been as cold as it is this winter, it really is spoiling the atmosphere of enjoying a coffee and meal.

Decided to go here as I was starving. Thought the chicken and chorizo kebab would do the trick. Well on arrival to the table it looked good. One bite of the chicken and I might as well of eaten some Lego blocks. It was dry and chewy. As I was so hungry I ate the chips, chorizo and pepper and that wasn’t exciting. To be honest the chips were the only thing that was nice. And the salad, by the end of if munching through it, I thought I had transitioned into being a rabbit. I paid £14.99 for what? What I can say is I will not be eating here again. All the best to those going forwards that have chicken and chorizo kebab.

We frequently stop at Riggs and visit Gordon's Tea Room to have a drink and something to eat.
My wife likes her tea quite weak and this seems to be a major problem as the tea comes in a teapot with tea leaves. when the staff are busy (nearly all the time) the tea is a long time in coming and therefore it is very strong. She used to ask for some hot water so as she could make the tea weaker. This was no problem until about two weeks ago when she was told that extra hot water was now 50 pence extra. The staff have been told to tell customers that the 50p charge is because customers were asking for hot water and then using their own tea bags. How many customers would have the cheek to do this?
Rigg's prices tend to be high in the first place so I am sure that they can afford to give customers hot water free of charge.
