We had a wonderful stay at Grange Farm and would recommend it to anyone.

From start to finish, the hosts took the time and effort to ensure we had a great stay. From a beautiful welcome basket with lovely local goodies, to extra towels for the hot tub, they had really thought about their guests needs. Lydia and her husband were on hand to give us helpful information about the home and area- nothing was too much trouble and they were lovely people. Grange Farm comes with everything you would need for a great stay away. We opted for extras including afternoon tea (which was a lovely addition to the holiday) and fire pit and hot chocolates . Both extras were high quality and added to our holiday experience.

Grange farm is a characterful space with beams, stone floors and a beautiful staircase. The attention to detail is very high and the place was completely spotless. When it comes to the outside, this is a great place for a family to stay with a big (and enclosed) garden. There are also animals in the neighbouring field which the children loved and really made us feel like we were having a proper stay in the countryside! The hot tub tops it all off and was a luxurious way to spend an evening.

The work that Lydia and James have done to the barn shines through in the look and feel of the barn conversion. ||My family and I stayed in the barns recently as part of my birthday celebrations. The standard of finish of the barns made the whole get away feel extremely special. ||The hosts are extremely attentive and nothing is too much to ask. ||Lydia gave a great introduction tour as we arrived, and ensured we understood where everything was and how everything worked. Lydia even went as far as to explain the local amenities and country walks, to which we took full advance of. ||The location of the barns works well for an amazingly relaxing break, with only the rare sound of wildlife and farm animals breaking the silence. Which offers a great contrast to the hustle and bustle of city life. ||I’d highly recommend staying at Grange Farm Barns and Im confident we’ll be back for another stay in the near future. ||Thank you Lydia and James for a very special birthday, and welcoming us with open arms to the barns.

Booked Grange Farm Barns for a birthday celebration over a long weekend and I couldn't have chosen better. Lydia and James were great hosts and you can see a lot of care and attention has gone into renovating and furnishing the barn. It's very comfortable and a great space for families or friends to relax together, York is only about 20-30 mins away too. I'd certainly go back

We had a fantastic stay at the beautiful Grange Farm Barns. The barn had everything you could need and our children loved the hot tub and feeding the sheep! It was also a perfect place for us to relax in after kid’s bedtime. There are lots of careful details around the barn and the staircase is stunning. Couldn’t recommend it more, look forward to coming back again!

We stayed here with my family for my Dads birthday and it was perfect. Newly renovated barn to a high standard with a lot of attention to detail, clean spacious nicely decorated rooms and gorgeous open plan kitchen/living/dining area. The hosts were very caring and attentive and were on hand if we needed anything. We arranged the hot chocolate and marshmallows by the fire which was so lovely in the evening. We would definitely stay here again, we had such a nice relaxing weekend.||Thank you and hopefully see you soon 🙂

A lovely few days away with my girls, partners and grandchildren. A stunning property with everything that you could wish for and more. Superbly decorated, super soft towels and comfy beds, couldn’t ask for anything more! Children loved feeding the animals and collecting apples, they were able to play in a secure setting. Hosts were fantastic with communication and were always able to answer my questions. Lovely to be able to chill out in hot tub. Would highly recommend and will be returning.

An unforgettable weekend at Grange Farm Barns

We’ve just returned from the most amazing family weekend at Grange Farm Barns and it was absolutely outstanding. We were wowed from the minute we arrived and stepped into the gorgeous open plan kitchen and dining area. As a brand new conversion, everything is finished to a high standard and there is everything you could possibly need for a perfect, luxurious long-weekend away. A welcome hamper is there for every guest with locally sourced tea, coffee, bread with a bottle of jersey milk from the nearby dairy and eggs fresh from the hens on the farm.

We all loved the hot tub and enjoyed a relaxing morning soak and the children loved jumping in for a blast of early evening bubbles.

All the rooms are spacious, beautifully presented with fabulous beds and linen with lots of big, fluffy white towels. I loved the main bathroom with the roll top bath, mood lighting and candles – perfect for escaping with a good book and pile of magazines.

The farm setting is wonderfully peaceful, a perfect base for exploring the city of York, which is just half an hour away or some of the small local market towns such as Pocklington and Howden.

There are lots of quirky details that make this stand out as a five star holiday location, the gin bar particularly appealed to me! Other things I loved were the velux balcony window in the main bedroom, the “naughty corner” desk in the dining room and the fire pit with marshmallows and hot chocolate.

Lydia and James have developed the barn with thoughtful, exquisite design and style and are perfect hosts - I can’t recommend this highly enough.

We cannot recommend Grange Farm Barns highly enough. From the moment we arrived it felt like home but also something more relaxing—and impeccably furnished—than home ever could be. We came to celebrate my birthday – the first 'normal' thing we’ve done since the coronapocalypse started. And what better place to do it?||||The experience was like this. Our car rumbled down an avenue of grazing cows and bleating sheep and stopped on the gravel drive where the views look out over infinite green and gold patchwork meadows. Entering through the garden, I immediately spotted my home for the next three days: a hot tub inside a little hut across the grass. Before diving in we explored the house. Beautiful wooden furniture (handmade by James) is everywhere. The kitchen work surfaces, the roof beams, the gnarled oak benches and TV stand. Not to mention the spiraled staircase. It’s beautifully decorated with quirky pictures on the walls. The bedrooms are spacious – particularly the master in the loft. It has a fold-out balcony and a bed that felt as if it was twelve foot wide. Maybe the only thing missing in the entire house was a full-size bedroom mirror. Otherwise, everything was provided. Including a breakfast basket of farm goods. Eggs, Jersey milk, jam, fruit bread, a fluffy white loaf.||||Lydia was the perfect host. Very approachable and always on-hand if you need her, but never overbearing. She gave us some great tips for things to do. One afternoon we had an afternoon tea provided by her mum, who was just as lovely as Lydia – and her scones were even nicer!||||We would definitely love to come back soon to visit you all again. Particularly the enormous cow we saw scale a mountain of soil one evening. (What are you feeding her!?)||||[Travelled as part of the Catharine party - 4th September 2020]
