I stopped at Grayling house for 4 nights whilst working in Chatham in July and found it a comfortable and friendly place to stay. My room was very, very spacious with a huge double bed, sofa and TV. It was extremely clean and relaxing with the breakfast very good. The bathrooms were shared which didn't seem a problem as I was the only room on the ground floor. Jane the landlady was very friendly and attentative. On the whole a lovely place to stay whether in Rochester for business or pleasure.

We had a lovely welcome when got there at around 11.30am and we were able leave a luggage ready for when the room comes free later in the day. We were there for only one night but could easy of stayed for many more as it felt like home from home. Yes it is a short walk up the hill from the main town but that is what’s nice about this B&B being in a quiet area away the busy pubs and high street.|Full English breakfast was very nice and certainly set us up the day. |Thanks again for your hospitality Jane, will be back again at some point.||Bob & Sheena |.

The place where this Bed and Breakfast is IDEAL for stay... Only 300 meters from the Rochester Castle and the Cathedral! The place is perfect, taking in consideration how small is Rochester... The room is fantastic, cleaned every day by Mrs Jane Clarke, landlady and owner of the facilities. Along with my wife, we stayed for 2 weeks, on a business trip. The house has 3 floors, and our room was quite big (located in the first floor, street view), with en-suite facilities, cable TV (good 29" TV set) and of course, free high speed Wi-Fi. There is also another rooms, with shared bathrooms. The breakfast is standard (fresh cofee, toasts, butter, jam, cereals, orange juice, etc), and Mrs Clarke usually found enough time to chat with us, which is very important to know the place and its people!

Stayed here for one night and can honestly say that it was worth every penny. Jane runs a fine establishment and the breakfast is top quality,||I stayed in a large spacious room with a scenic view overlooking the River Medway. Bathroom was shared but there was a wash basin in the corner of the room. Got a really good night sleep.

What can I say. Lovely airy large rooms. Wonderful host Jane is. Excellent nights stay. Lovely breakfast and only 3 minutes walk to Rochester Castle. Will definitely go back. Parking can be a tad difficult, but not a problem. Amazing views from the bedrooms. Tea and coffee facilities in small kitchen shared on each floor.

As leader of a morris team who have been attending the Rochester Sweeps festival since 1994 I have stayed here with various team members many times.||Lovely spacious rooms, shared bathroom on each floor, some rooms have en suite facilities. TV and sofa in the large rooms makes it a good place to stay if you want to spend some time in your room during the day. There is also a small kitchen with microwave, refrigerator and free tea/coffee vending machine allowing guests to look after themselves during their stay. |A well-prepared full English breakfast is included. Cereals, juice, toast and tea/coffee also. The best part of breakfast is however (of course) the friendly banter with our hosts Jane, Bee and Geoff.||Though there are no private car parking facilities is usually fairly easy to park on the road close by.||From visiting as a single traveller in the late 90s I now visit with many members of the team each year who all agree that this is a really great place to stay.

Grayling house is up the hill so it’s a bit of a climb up from the high street at the bottom. We stayed in the double en suite which was a nice big clean and airy room, decoration might not be to everyone’s taste but what people choose to do with their houses is up to them and it doesn’t effect your stay.| We enjoyed our full English breakfast. Car parking can be difficult as you have to find a space on the road, I thought where I parked was fine only to get a parking ticket put on my car, as I had parked adjacent to a dropped curd opposite the church gates that had two massive steps.||
