We had a lovely stay, Lynne and her partner are excellent hosts, and the breakfast was very, very good. We didn't eat all day! The room was clean and very comfortable. Nothing was to much trouble. Unfortunately, we had to share a bathroom - which, in itself, wasn't a problem - as the en-suites were already booked. The locked parking was a bonus, as parking (and the traffic) i York is horrendous. Greenside is a few yards from a bus stop and the buses ran every 10 mins or so, so a good service, if needed. To walk into town takes approx 10/15 mins., and flat so a reasonable walk.

Good location, about 1.5 miles from station. Regular bus service very close, £2 one way anywhere (as far as Whitby) fabulous value for money. Spar next door. Host very welcoming. Room (no 4) with two double comfortable beds, pillows a bit flat but spare available. overlooking the street but little road noise due to secondary double glazing. Ensuite with shower quite small and could do with an update, energy saving light quite dim and takes a while to brighten up. Small TV. Kettle, a couple of T bags and coffee sachets, a couple of small shampoo and shower gel replaced if used. Towels provided and hairdryer. Very nice breakfast, cereal, tea/coffee, fruit juice, full english breakfast (sausage, bacon, egg, fried bread tomato and beans) and for a welcome change on a very hot plate so you won't have to rush it. There is car parking for 6 behind shutters so all protected

I had a great stay at the Greenside Guest House when I went to York with my husband and some other family members. My room was comfortable and very clean. When my husband was unfortunately taken to hospital during our time in York, the team were extremely helpful and supportive. I was very grateful for their help as they went above and beyond during a difficult time.|Thanks once again to all at Greenside|Guest House.

This was our second time staying at the Greenside B&B. The house provides a homely and inviting atmosphere to its guests. There is a wide variety of breakfast options available in the morning and snacks in the rooms such as biscuits and tea/coffee sachets. Lynne and Nigel are very welcoming and enjoying speaking to their guests and providing helpful information where possible. The B&B is located in a nice neighbourhood, surrounded by greenery and flowers. It has shops nearby and the town can be easily reached by either following the river or the main road.

We would definitely stay here again and look forward to our next visit.

Very last minute booking and they were accommodating. Very clean and quiet room at the back. Tea and coffee making in room. Beds comfortable. Beautiful breakfast with options. Carpark secure and safe. Owners gave us information to walk the river way to town it was lovely and peaceful. Would recommend ringing to book. Owners Very nice and friendly. We will be booking again to take the family. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Had a wonderful solo stay here for a couple of nights. Welcoming and friendly service from the moment I arrived, everything was spotlessly clean, the room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. To top it all off the room rate was excellent for such a central location and there’s even a secure car park too. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you!

We have stayed here 2 years in a row for the Christmas market and had lovely happy times! Lynne and Nigel are lovely and the breakfast is amazing! Will keep you full until teatime, a short walk into the city centre and hosts are always helpful with any recommendations for places to eat etc 🙂

A lovely B&B run by a lovely friendly family. We stayed there after our original planned stay at a nearby Premier Inn fell through as we mistakenly booked a twin room instead of a family room.
We drove through York and saw the vacancy sign in the window. We gave Greenside a call and there was a family room available. The lady was really friendly and welcoming and showed us around before committing our stay.
The rooms were lovely a clean and secure parking around the back.
The breakfast was lovely too. With a full English, tea, coffee, fruit juice and cereals on offer as well. It really made a great start to our day.
The location is perfect for about a ten minute walk into York city centre (0.7 miles).
After our mix up with our original booking, our stay at Greenside really made up for a lovely weekend in York and I can highly recommend them.
