The breakfast was always cooked to an exceptional standard. The breakfast menu and availability was excellent and the staff were absolutely fantastic. The hotel was located at a great location,local transport was nearby. The bedroom was located as requested,upper floor and it met ALL our requirements. Very clean, superb views,natural sunlight coming into all of the room from different angles. The bed was very comfortable and the location was very quiet. The electric shower was extremely powerful and efficient. The bar and the food was outstanding ,very good quality,all at a reasonable price.All the staff and local users of the hotel were very friendly and helpful. We picked this hotel for our 30th(Pearl) wedding anniversary and we couldn’t ask for any more in our celebrations. We will definitely be visiting this hotel in the very near future. We would like to congratulate and thank “ALL”concerned with their hard work in making our visit absolutely fantastic!!. Many fond memories which will be precious forever.****THANK YOU****

Great place to stay with a wonderful atmosphere and exceptional food ... this made it difficult to choose from the menu as everything I had was delicious and the passing food ordered by others looked great too ... vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options well-indicated on the main menu. Room was clean and bright, stocked with tea, coffee and a kettle (better than a flash coffee maker where you need a degree to work it!). Good choice at breakfast. Shower worked well with good water flow and toiletries provided. Staff were great and obviously work well as a team. I would have no hesitation in recommending and will definitely stay again. Thank you all ... my stay was super enjoyable 🙂

We'd had a busy day in Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay and fancied a bit of tea on a Saturday evening. We were recommended the Grosvenor by someone we met during the day. A quick phone call about table availability for six people a thumbs up from pub and we were on our way. Our reserved table was all ready for us on arrival.
Overall the service was excellent, the menu and specials board was comprehensive, the food was delicious. The whole experience at such short notice was a perfect end to the day.

Walker

Located about 10 minutes walk from the beach, this is a really decent hotel. Our top floor family room was huge and very comfortable. The bar food and breakfast were excellent. There is no on site parking, but a pay and display opposite, although roadside parking is available if you time it right.
Overall, real value for money.

Had high expectations for this place, was quite disappointed.
The room initially seemed okay, nicely decorated. Bed was comfy. Gluten free options for breakfast. That’s where it stopped.
No onsite parking, there is a pay and display car park just across the road, prices are reasonable.
Lots of little finishing touches overlooked, tea or coffee splashed up the radiator, bathroom door needs a good wipe, stains on the sofa.
The radiators in the room/ en-suite made loud noises on and off all night so I hardly slept at all. We tried adjusting the thermostat but this made no difference. Tea and coffee making facilities not very well stocked.
Breakfast - initially we sat down, lady serving asked what drinks we wanted. Few minutes later brought out a rack of toast, at this point we said both of us were gluten free. So she said you don’t want the toast then? Well obviously not if we have asked for gluten free. My partner is coeliac and I am gluten intolerant.
The toast was taken away, within a minute or so that same toast rack was placed on another table for another guest.
We did however get our gluten free breakfast, which was nice.
Due to poor sleep and lack of dietary requirement knowledge we would not return for another stay.

Great place to stay. Very nice and friendly staff. Great location. Quiet, calm and nice place. Delicious breakfast. There are vegetarian options. I recommend trying the vegetarian full English breakfast. The room was clean, quite spacious and it was quiet at night. If you are in this area, this hotel is a great option for a stay.

Excellent food , superb staff who were very welcoming. Food was absolutely fantastic, fresh and served very quickly. Very well priced and value for money.

Also if you find opportunity, try the homemade Sticky Toffee Pudding…..worth visiting just for that alone !!!!

Check in easy and great breakfast with good service. Rooms was comfortable and warm with everything we needed. Top of the hill for Robin Hood Bay was great
location for us and easy parking off season. Near start of cinder trail or cliff top walk to Whitby or bus stop. Good value.
