we stayed perin a dog friendly two bedroom Scandinavian lodge and there was nothing to complain about. The lodge was spacious, well equipped and clean. It was perfectly located a short distance from The Terrace restaurant and miners trail walk which takes you directly to the beach. We stayed with our two dogs and this was perfect for what we needed.|I was dubious reading some of the reviews and don’t understand why people complain about the smallest things. The lodge is excellent value for money and a perfect break. Gwel Y mor is central to all of Cornwall’s main attractions and would highly recommend. We are so impressed we have booked for next year

The lodge itself is beautifully designed—comfortable yet stylish, with a perfect blend of modern amenities and rustic charm. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean, with soft linens and plush towels that made us feel right at home.||The location is simply unbeatable. Just a short walk from a secluded beach (we drove nost day though as we ventured lots of places), the lodge offers views of the beach. You’re also just a short drive from some of Cornwall’s famous attractions, like St. Ives and the becah its self in Portreath, making it a great base for exploring. You also have activities to do at the resort itself. We took full advantage of the pool having a 1 year old. The resort itself is just more than we expected.||If you're looking for a relaxing, picturesque getaway in Cornwall, I can’t recommend Gwel an Mor enough. It combines natural beauty with exceptional service, and it truly felt like a home away from home.

Just completed a 2 week stay at Gwel an Mor. Having driven from West Sussex we were very tired and our initial thoughts were it seemed nice. On closer inspection of our lodge it became very clear there was a distinct lack of cleanliness and attention to detail. The main bathroom the bath had not been cleaned. Behind the beds and between the bed and bedside cabinets were filthy with dust and hair, clearly had not been hovered for a very long period of time. There was a bad smell in the lodge but we quickly found the sauce which was a rancid smelling Henry Hoover. The saucepans were also dirty with burnt on food stain. The vinyl floor areas were in need of mopping and the windows needed cleaning also. We took a trip to the supermarket where we purchase cleaning products Brillo pads and scented candles, job done. The grounds of the park itself were very well maintained. The view out to sea was lovely also. After the first week we had to call and ask for a change of Bedding and towel which was promptly delivered, but I do feel this should have been a given not a request. If you are driving a EV there is free charging point available which is a big thumbs up from me. I do feel that this could be so much better as the site has everything you need but lacks cleanliness and attention to detail. Despite the above mentioned we did have a nice holiday. Not sure if my expectations were too high given the website information and pictures.

First visit and definitely won't be our last. We stayed in a signature lodge H20, lovely and modern, clean and views over the hills. So so quite it was just what was needed. Laura on reception was so welcoming and friendly which was a great first impression. The walk down to Portreath was lovely through the wood. Bonus pubs at the end 🍷if you are looking for a quite relaxing getaway, but close to beaches etc this is the place for you. We will be back, oh also the dog loved it and has come home chilled. Thank you to all your team.

Yet another fab holiday here, excellent base for exploring Cornwall - Site very welcoming, clean and feels safe - special mentions to Laura, Emma and Mel for going above and beyond to ensure our stay was excellent.|Any issue we reported to reception and maintenance, was dealt with quickly and efficiently. |The resort is ideal for bringing our dog and extremely pet friendly, also with Tehidy woods close by ideal for walks on warm days giving shade.|Looking forward already to next time.

Really enjoyed our 4 day holiday at Gwel am Mor, Portreath |Our lodge, number 15, though a little tired, was comfortable and large and had everything, we needed |The view from the upstairs balcony was wonderful, over the sea, towards RAF Portreath and St Agnes, in the distance |We managed to get into our lodge about an hour before, the official time of 16.00|What made our mini holiday, really special, apart from the weather, was the staff. |Always friendly, helpful and courteous |Will look to go again. |Value for money

Definitely not a 5* resort or so family friendly for young children. |where do i begin, i originally booked an 8 person lodge back in july 2024, even though there would only be 4 of us going we wanted space and luxury as advertised, however in december 2024 i was contacted by hoseasons to say my accommodation had been “double” booked by gwel an mor, i found this suspicious as i had booked 5 months previously!! i just think they saw us a party of 4 not needing that lodge or space so we were then transferred to a 6 person signature lodge which i was happy with and hoseasons gave us a compensation voucher which i happily accepted. |we arrived on the saturday june 14th and in all honestly we struggled to find the site, the directions to the place were clear but considering its a 5* resort there is no clear sign or welcoming entrance showing you, you’re here! so we actually drove past. the directions we were sent said look for the low white wall and palm tree lined drive and you are here, well neither of that is at the entrance, it’s a brown rock wall and drive with no palm trees whatsoever ever, in face it advertises the farm more. the sign for Gwel An Mor is just an advertisement for buying a holiday home. |we arrived a few hours early and reception called us at 1 to let us know our accommodation was ready which we were happy as we got in a few hours earlier. |on the surface the lodge was lovely, very spacious and welcoming. we loved the lodge all week but just little things let it down (not enough to complain as luckily there was a hoover in the cupboard so hoovered myself)floors still had crumbs and cobwebs were in the corners. green moss all on the decking so could do with a jet wash to freshen up. also we noticed we only had one sun lounger and all others had 2, so we called reception on the monday and asked for another lounger so both adults could use one, we were told not a problem and maintenance would bring one, we never received another one by the time we left. |The resort itself was sold as 5* and family friendly, but to me i don’t understand how it can be when there is no family entertainment just a small outsidepark area for kids. the pool|was freezing and with 2 small kids not ideal i would say more of a leisure/gym based pool. base camp for the kids was £30 for a 4 day pass for the 2 kids and i would say again fairly tired for 5* and i believe should be included with your holiday |The restaurant advertised in the welcome pack as doing breakfast but it doesn’t, we asked reception if breakfast was being served and we were told no the restaurant opens at 12. |the rooftop bar is just a shipping container with seats on top. which wasn’t open the whole time we were here, there is no bar area to sit and chill at, so you need to order at the restaurant and sit outside or inside on a table. again i’ve never been to a holiday park like this as it closed at 8pm so not a long time to really enjoy an evening out for drinks or food.|the reception area was dated as it showed bingo for the end of May even though we’re well into june! and i did find some staff just not very friendly or attentive but i found the hot tub/ maintenance workers friendly. |the “shop” wasn’t great either it didn’t stock the basic necessities such as milk, and it isn’t always manned so you needed to call a number to buy anything. i think a small shop with basics would be better suited near the restaurant or reception. |i just think overall what was advertised was a lot of promise of an exclusive resort and it wasn’t. |It’s not a 5* resort or so family friendly so if you are on the look out for a holiday park that has entertainment/ activities for kids and a bar area to enjoy i would say this isn’t for you.But if you don’t mind not having this things it’s a great place to stay as the signature lodges were lovely.

I'm very glad to say, things have improved a lot since we visited in December. The lodge we stayed in (#51) has had a minor refurb - new bathrooms, new furniture in the lounge and bedrooms. There are a few things that still need attention, but speaking to workmen onsite - there are more changes planned. The staff were much friendlier and more like the happy, smiley people we encountered previously. The only negative was the 'Famous Nine' golf course. This desperately needs improvement, especially now its chargeable for onsite guests to use. Overall, a pleasant stay and we have booked to visit again next year.
