Very cozy cafe. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm smell of coffee and the friendly smiles from the staff. Even though they closed at 3 pm, they let us stay and chat without even mentioning it. Very welcoming and friendly!

I ordered the flat white, it was fantastic, smooth, and perfectly balanced.

Definitely a hidden gem!

Called Saturday 23rd March.
Staff were absolutely charming. Coffee and rhubarb Victoria sandwich cake were delicious. Dogs are obviously most welcome as we saw the staff bring them their own water bowls!
Really cosy feel to the cafe. There is an upstairs with a comfy settee and also windows overlooking the market place .

The staff at Halcyon House Cafe, couldn't be any nicer. I was warmly greeted on entering & offered a seat upstairs in a lovely space. I had the soup of the day with a cheese scone followed by a large slice of cake. All the food was delicious & again the service was excellent. I initially sat on a sofa, but when my food arrived & a table became available. I was offered the alternative. There is water available on both floors & it's family friendly with dogs welcome.

Called in earlier as I was passing through. Got the pork, apple and sage roll with a brownie. The woman said the rolls were good but wow! They’re actually sensational. In fact no sorry, they’re sexual!! Wish I’d got 2 now but I’ll have to pass by soon. The brownie was also quite good. Definitely worth a visit if you like proper home made food.

Delicious coffee. Charming and efficient service - really pleasant people. Good cakes, and not "over the top" either in size or price. Free water available on both floors.
My dog is also very keen on this place.

Service not the best. But, main issue was over priced and awful tasting food (dry panini with virtually no filling , burnt) Asked for fruit scone for daughter and was severed date and nut. Glad she has no allergies.
Made a comment as I paid the bill that it had all been disappointing. Lass responded with ‘thank you’.
Will return to Grants bakery next time.

We called in last week and it was so good we went back yesterday. A lovely cafe, great atmosphere with very friendly welcoming staff. Food and coffee really good. Took scones home with us and they were amazing. Will definitely go back and can recommend.
