Very clean, lovely room. Felt very safe. Bed comfy, nice coffee in room too. They even let you get extra milk and biscuits from a station which was always full of nice things. Parking easy . Breakfast gorgeous. Staff very friendly and let me look at my old flat back from when I was a student. Would stay again

What a fabulous hotel! It was like stepping back to my university days, a complete memory machine. THis has been the most enjoyable stay I;ve had this year. ||Its an old University Halls of Residence turned into a hotel, but there is no escaping what it was. The rooms are tiny, the beds are firm and small, and the ensuite has the dimensions of a large wardrobe. It was perfect for me, for a 48 hour visit to see my youngest at the University. For any parents travelling as a couple, the beds might be a tad intimate...just get another room. Shower/ensuite was clean and hot. Breakfast is minimal, a coffee or tea and a croissant, but just a mile down the road in Broomhill you can get a good breakfast, lunch or dinner (the place is very wel known to Uber Eats too). You are actually on the Endcliffe site remember, shops on site if you need anything. But that also brings some noise late at night. Not in the hotel but outside...its a University Residence site remember. I packed (and used) some earplugs.||I was on my bike, but there was enough parking spaces spare when I got there about 4 on a Friday.

Great hotel, friendly staff, and lots of dining options around. Quite close to Peak District. Area surrounding hotel is the University of Sheffield and it’s a gorgeous campus. Gets a little creepy at night but didn’t find it unsafe.

Room size wasn’t as big as expected but it’s all right for a 1-2 night stay. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Lots of power sockets in the room and ample towels with soap and shampoo provided.

Need to press the buzzer to take your car into the parking lot.

I would agree with an earlier post that this hotel is a hidden gem. There was a function taking place during our visit however we could hear nothing of it in our room which incidentally was clean and had the appearance of being recently decorated. It retained some original features which was a nice touch. The shower etc. was great.||To me however, the most important thing is the food and I wasn’t disappointed. The menu had something for everyone. My wife had the sea bass which was moist and paired with samphire and potatoes. I had a wild mushroom pasta dish which was sublime. It had a chilli and garlic crumb which gave it a mild punch but not so much as to extinguish the lovely creamy mushroom sauce. The pasta was soft but not over done. I believe chefs Tim and Abdul were to thank for this dish and clearly they have a passion for their craft. Finally comments about the restaurant would not be complete without mentioning the table staff who created a welcoming atmosphere, being cheerful and friendly.||All in all, my only disappointment was that we were only staying the one night.

Halifax is a lovely boutique hotel situated in a lovely, quiet, and peaceful area of Sheffield. We were greeted by the friendly and helpful Matty who made sure we were comfortably ensconced in our attractive and cozy room. The lodgings had everything we could have asked for - an amazing shower and bathroom, plenty of coffee and tea, and delicious biscuits. The bed was ever so comfortable, and we had a restful night. Everyone employee we encountered was eager to please and went out of our way to make our stay a happy one. Halifax Hall Hotel is highly recommended!

Fantastic value for money! Very friendly and helpful staff and a clean, comfortable room. And the shower was brilliant! Ditto the breakfast. All in all an excellent choice for somewhere to stay in Sheffield.

I stayed in a double room. Overall I was happy with the room - it was clean, with a very spacious bathroom, and had a coffee machine that could also produce hot water for tea, and the location was fairly quiet. There was also a fan in the wardrobe which was very useful as the room was very warm. There were a couple of minor issues - the cold water tap in the bathroom would alternate between hot and cold even while running, and the duvet was very thick and more suited to winter than summer. I ended up removing it and just sleeping in the sheets.||Breakfast was included in the stay, and I also had dinner a couple of nights. The quality of the food was overall quite good for the price, though the portion sizes of the full English breakfasts were perhaps a little on the small side.||In terms of service, pretty much everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly and helpful. However, it did feel like they were understaffed at times, leading to slow service. Two notable examples were on Sunday evening I had to go on a 5 minute walk to find someone so that I could pay for dinner, because there was no one in the bar or restaurant. The cooked breakfast also took half an hour to arrive on my final day, and was missing black pudding (though this was swiftly rectified when raised). For this reason I’m only giving a 4 instead of 5 rating.||Overall I felt the place was nice and represented good value for money, and I would happily stay again.

We were delighted with the service we received at this hotel on our one night weekend day stay. The location is superb and the service from all colleagues was very good. The quality of the cooked breakfasts was outstanding. The rooms are a little small to be fair, otherwise everything was excellent. Recommended, especially for a 1/2 night stay.
