Took the kids for some food and a drink at 5pm on a Sunday night. Told they aren’t serving food because the chef went home early. Asked the staff if we could order a pizza to get delivered here, we were told no. Asked to speak to the manager, told we couldn’t do that as there was no manager. The place was empty so not sure who we were offending and surprised they didn’t want our money at the bar.

My wife and i attended a 60th birthday gathering and days before ordered our meals and made payment in full . They advertise a starter , being Scallops at £11.50 . I received 1 Scallop and a bout 9 peas. My main course was the Duck which was delivered cold . After feedback from my table I complained and was told that this was fine dining..They will not get my money again and intend to contact trading standards.

First time I have stayed at this hotel and I must say the staff here are amazing. From arriving at the hotel, checking in and throughout my stay, the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much bother. The room was nicely decorated, I would say a little on the small side especially the shower, but had everything I needed for a 1 night stay. I will certainly be looking at staying here again on my work adventures. Thank you for the lovely professional service you provided.

Nice, old fashioned country hotel. Lovely comfortable room with a good en suite, although this had a slightly musty smell.
We asked about time for breakfast and were told 0700-0930. The booklet in the room said 0700-1000 and it turned out to be 0700-0945. Needs to be sorted. That said, breakfast was fabulous. The waiting staff were friendly, cheerful, and efficient, and the eggs Royale was perfect. Good value.

One night stay including breakfast plus family Sunday Lunch.
Warm friendly and welcoming staff. Clean comfortable room.
The Sunday lunch was good value and tasty.
There were a couple of things that we needed to prompt/ask for and they were rectified quickly and efficiently. Some of the public areas and gardens could do with a bit of love. Probably a little room for improvement but overall good and would use again.

We went for food on a Saturday evening the place was deadly quiet and when we looked at the menu could easily understand why . The choices were very limited, with no meat options, basically all fish . There were roughly 12 people in the restaurant, and every single person had fish and chips which if I'm honest, wasn't the greatest but the best of a bad menu . One table even left before ordering due to how limited the menu was . Top prices for basic food not great

The food was good. The staff were mainly young and apparently very inexperienced and clearly lacking much idea of how to serve in a restaurant. The most egregious example was ignoring us waiting at the bar, clearly preferring to chat to another customer at the other end. Another example was that I was served my starter on a plank of wood which I don't like at all. I asked the waitress if I could have it on a plate instead. She took it away and brought the whole thing back (including the plank) balanced on a plate - staggering really...

Stayed for a 2 night break. The staff were all friendly professional and nothing was to much trouble. The reception staff were fab.
We had booked bed & breakfast the food was lovely. We decided after a long day out to have an evening meal, again the food was excellent.
The room was at the top of the hotel and was warm but it was on the hottest few days so was to be expected that said we had a lovely decorated room very clean, the bed was so comfy. The shower room was amazing a full on shower fab.
All in all a fabulous hotel.
Will definitely return too.
