Unfortunately, due to business expenses, I had to eat in this beef eater, when I arrived at the bar to order my food I was met with a woman that looked very miserable and didn’t seem to be enjoying her role or job. When I was trying to establish what I needed to do to make sure I followed my business contracts, it was like I was asking her to eat sour sweets, however, we eventually got there after a couple of sighs! It arrived pretty quickly and it was edible if not a bit cold, chips look like they had been scraped from the bottom of the frying pan, please see the picture. I also had a pint of Coke. This came to approximately £25. Again the next morning I went for breakfast, nice and pleasant lady showed me to my seat and pointed me in the right direction. Unfortunately, the cooked breakfast, even though under a lamp was cold, they had no scrambled egg and I couldn’t find the lady as she had disappeared! The egg you can see on my plate was rubbery and I reckon I could’ve used it as a frisbee. However, it was edible. Music was a bit loud and they need to clean the mould of the windows, as it wasn’t very pleasant to look at whilst eating breakfast. It takes two minutes to clean the windows and mould if the windows in the restaurant at this bad I can only imagine what it’s like in the kitchen. The restaurant needs investments a good clean and a general upgrade not the best beef eater I’ve been to.

Apart from the friendly service this was a very disappointing visit. Chargrilled chicken was rubbery and tasteless as were the 2 prawns. The asparagus was overcooked and was hard and chewy. The so called ‘skin-on’ chips were just normal chips although must say these were the best part of the meal. Pity because not long ago we enjoyed a nice Sunday roast here.

Starter were Really nice and really Hot. The Festive Turkey was ok but wasnt great. The Carrots wasn't peeled, brussels Sprouts didn't take the outside of it, parsnips were really thin not much of it. Peas wasn't very nice. Roast Potatoes they tasted like they been on the Side for a few days. I was really dissapointed and wasn't worth £25.95. Some things they didn't have. The Atter Eight Sundae that was nice though amd refreshing. Should of gone for my instant and went for the Rib and Chicken combo I would of enjoyed that more. I don't think we will come again.

It was busy when we came so the staff were rushed off if their feet but despite this they were all polite and smiling.

Food was a little slow to come out but, as I said, they were really busy. Despite this, the food was delicious, the restaurant was very clean and tidy and overall an enjoyable meal.

Our waitress Lisa was excellent, very helpful and great service. Lorraine on the Bar was also excellent, very efficient and great service, both were also very pleasant even though they were extremely busy. The food was lovely and very well cooked. Would certainly use The Harbour Lights again.

Amazing lady on the phone this morning so polite, very helpful. Breakfast is amazing, we visited yesterday (11/01/25) and wanted to visit again today as family staying next door, but unfortunately fully booked. Food regularly replenished, hash browns and sausages were so good! Great coffee and price amazing especially when kids eat free! Will be back

Service was close to excellent as usual. However, food was terribly this time. It used to be good when we last came a year ago. This time everything went terribly wrong. The roasts were overcooked - even for the vegetables and fries.

Most certainly won’t be coming back after this time - even weatherspoon would be better.

My brother and I came to here for a quick meal Tuesday morning! Before my driving test. All the staff were super lovely but there was one lady who told me I would pass my test!
I told her If I passed then I’d let her know 🙂 … I passed 😀 thank you for the encouragement you gave me right before my test!

The steak and chips were good too!
