When arriving at the BB in Tobormory we were greeted with the words, you are not booked here, I can't find you in the book. Thankfully I had printed off an email that I received from the owner Bella that stated confirmation of our booking. I was then told we had arrived on the wrong day. Which we had not. The next statement was asking for cash for our room, which I did not have as expected to pay by card or bank transfer. |The BB is very old fashioned with a mixture of furniture and artifacts from days gone by.|The room was however clean with a good shower and a good view of the harbour.|Breakfast had a good choice (avoid the mini prepacked Choissants, they were terrible) and although we did not have a cooked breakfast, we saw others and it looked very nice.|The value for money overall was not good but Tobormory accommodation is not abundant so you get what you get and have to pay the going rate.|I would not rush back

I was asked to cancel my booking a few days after I made it. Apparently they double booked. They took money from my account and still haven't returned it after a month. I booked direct, through the website and was told that there was a fault and the 'computer guy' was fixing it but apparently, he has been on holiday for a month. I was then asked to prove that I had made the payment by sending a screenshot of the transfer. I kept an eye on availability over this period and noticed that the prices had gone up. Funny that you can still book available rooms directly. System seems to be working just fine now. They obviously forgot to increase their prices for the music festival and realised they had messed up and therefore asked me to cancel my booking. There was no offer of one of their available rooms. If I want one of those then I need to pay the 'new' higher price. They dealt with the whole situation really badly.

Thoroughly enjoyed two nights with great harbor view from our clean and well-appointed room in very pleasantly-decorated B&B. The walk directly down to the waterfront (across Argyll Terrace from the church) might be too steep for some, but we found it quite convenient, and without the auto traffic of the road. The traditional breakfast was very good, and when we told our host Belle that we'd have to leave early to catch the ferry, she provided us with a satisfying breakfast in a bag for the road.

We stayed in the Rose cottage which was private basically in their back garden, one room and bathroom. It advertised views of the harbour, which is false, you have to walk to the gate to see it. The room was comfortable and had space for luggage, clean and had good facilities. Breakfast was good full English, smoked salmon and eggs or vegetarian full English. They also had cereal or sandwiches if you want breakfast at 8. The other rooms were in their home and two I think would have views of the harbour. The staff were really nice the woman who served us was helpful and brought our breakfast out on time everyday so we could get on with our day. It was quiet at night the only issue is the roof would be loud if it rained. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

To start with the positive, the view is incredible! The room (#2 on the 1st floor) is beautiful, comfortable, very clean and well equipped. The bathroom is brand new.||In terms of welcome, the impression is much more negative. After hasty greetings, we were immediately attacked regarding our booking (1 adult + 1 child) because the child (15 y.) was no longer a child according to their criteria what we understood although there was absolutely no indication of this on their website at the time of booking. Then we were reproached to have not only lied about the status of the "child" but also to ask for a second night when we only booked 1 (despite the confirmation email with 2 nights!). Finally, we were asked to pay in cash for 1 night + an extra for "the child" (20 pounds). When we said that the entire stay had been paid when we booked online, the person at the reception (who was not the owner) became very tense and wouldn't listen, even when we showed our online bank statement. After two calls to the owner who finally checked at her bank account, they finally conceded that two nights had already paid but still demanded the extra 20 pounds (for the breakfast which was good but not amazing in terms of choice and flexibility of timing). It would have been appreciated if this supplement had been "offered" (as an "excuse") rather than insistently demanded it again...||On the 2nd day, there was no electricity in the room when we returned from our walk. After having found the person which was extremely surprised/suspicious, the electricity was turned back on with a remark that we had probably blown it up with our devices (1 phone!). No heating also on the second day.||Finally, we didn't know how to get the TV/box to work (no explanation of how it worked). ||In conclusion, a very unpleasant feeling of disturbing... for an insane price (150 pounds per night)!! Very unfortunate while the holidays were really beautiful so far.||We would not recommend.

We stayed 4 nights. Room 2. Need a bit of luggage handling up to the 1st floor. Before we moved in a bit worried by previous review on low ceiling and small room. Our Room 2 is not z very big room but sufficient to move around inside. Ceiling not low at all (except for professional basket ball players may be). Very clean. The view from the window is exceptional grand, surpassed only perhaps by the view at the West Isles Hotel. Very quiet. Breakfast is cooked, we had full Scottish once, other times salmon egg mushroom and tomato. No yoghurt, yes, but there were fruits and cereal. I consider very good. The climb from the main Street is well worth given the view.

Let's start with what's right about this place. The setting is fabulous and the room we had at the front of the house with great views was well designed in terms of making best use of the space available. Along with the en suite bathroom it was also well kitted out apart from the saggy mattress.||That's where the good news ends. No welcome worth the name when we arrived and no goodbye at the end when we still felt like strangers We were there for three nights and every single day we had to make one request or another about having the heat switched on in our room via their controls downstairs. The breakfasts were OK but the choice was pretty restricted. We had to ask for orange juice, there was only the most meagre supply of fresh fruit and no yogurt or the like. ||But most of all, even by the end of our stay we still felt we were visitors being tolerated rather than guests being welcomed, which is what you'd normally expect from any Hebridean B and B. Quite clearly we had chanced upon somewhere where the bottom line was everything. Had we stayed there for a week or a fortnight we'd have still been strangers complaining about feeling cold. Our room rate was £130. Value for money? You decide.|||||

I called one evening for a room during a cycling trip. I was lucky enough that they had a vacancy that night. The room was well equipped, clean and well finished. It had its own heating, and a towel rail. Perfect at the end of a rainy day on Mull.

I had to take the first ferry in the morning unfortunately so couldn't sample breakfast. If it was to the same standard as the room I would expect it to be good.

Host was great, very accommodating for my last minute booking.

Had eco friendly guide which was nice to see awareness of these issues!

Would definitely stay again.
