We had a wonderful stay at Hare and Hounds in Rye! The bed and breakfast room was immaculate, cozy, and thoughtfully designed with every detail in mind for a relaxing getaway. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the countryside views from the window added to the charm.

The hosts were welcoming and attentive, ensuring we felt at home without being intrusive. Breakfast was an absolute highlight – freshly prepared, it truly set the tone for the day.

We also loved how close it was to some lively beach walks. Camber Sands was a standout, offering stunning views and fresh sea air – the perfect addition to a peaceful retreat.

The location was perfect: peaceful and tucked away, yet just a short drive to the heart of Rye and nearby attractions. If you’re looking for a warm and inviting stay with character, Hare and Hounds is a perfect choice. We can’t wait to return!

Wow, what a venue for a short break.|The Shepherds Hut was perfect for Misty (the dog) and myself. So cosy, warm and had everything you would need. The log burner was a bonus. Such a beautifully presented place to stay. Superb location, as only a couple of miles outside the quaint town of Rye.|Harriet the host, couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you. |I hope to return one day.|Would thoroughly recommend.

Liked: Clean, well maintained facilities, which we never had to queue for.
Reasonably flat pitch, which allowed us to use our ramps for the first time
Bus stop into Rye right outside the campsite

Disliked: not much. Really tall hedge behind our pitch which blocked the sun before sunset, but great morning sum our our pitch.

I stayed here this week and loved the chalet I had. Spacious, clean, comfortable, and in a very convenient location, with ample parking outside. |There was a little wood for walking the dog on site. |Everywhere was well lit at night, and having a key code entry was much better than having a key to worry about. |The lady host was really nice and the breakfast was well organised. The dog was welcome at breakfast too.||Only negative is - that it's a shame the pub isn't running anymore.

Liked: I was greeted by the owner on arrival. Extremely helpful and friendly. Walked me to my pitch. Great site and lots of space this time of the year. I have a very well behaved dog who was allowed to be off the lead which was great. Faculties were very very good.

Disliked: It was a great site but I was out of season. Pitches were small so I would not have liked to be there high season. That would be my only concern.

Liked: Such a great stay! Check in was easy, Harriet was lovely in welcoming us and showing us where everything was. We went the last week of August and had a great time!
We had the bell tent and would go back in a heart beat! It had everything we needed for a quick weekend away, facilities were very clean!
We will be returning next year but bringing our dog along with us!

Liked: Location is easy to find and there is a range of electrical and non electrical pitches. The toilets and showers are very clean, there is a communal fridge / freezer and microwave and washing up is well arranged.
The owners are very polite, they have fire pits to hire and the rate is reasonable.
Best of all you are only 20 minutes from Camber Sands!

62 yrs old and my first time of any sort of camping ! Stayed in a bell tent. The site was very clean and tidy. Showers, loos and washing up area all lovely and clean as well. Had all we needed in way of outdoor cooking and fire pit. Very peaceful location but only a short drive into Rye and Camber Sands. Will definitely be returning. All in all good value for money and in a great location
