The National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool is one of the best museums in the world.I can proudly say I was once a professional Tour guide there and was proud of that fact. IT'S OPEN AGAIN YAAAAAAA BUT you MUST PRE BOOK ON LINE FIRST .Take a look at the website and you will be taken through an introduction of entry. There is so much to see and do. (for all age groups ) price of entry is very reasonable considering what they have on offer. Fighting ships display is a definite must not miss,Gun and cannon display is demonstrated at certain times as is fighting ships . Ask questions about the displays. .....staff and extremely knowledgeable on all of the site activities.
Coffee shop are great(but if you want to take your own picnic there are tables around the site for you to use )The shop is a must visit it gives you a wide range of gifts and even navy Rum to buy at a very reasonable price plus glass ware to drink it out of .On site are housings that you can wonder around and sometimes they have guides that will give you displays in the shops themselves. HMS TRINCOMALEE is an amazing Original vessel. Over 66%original, She is one of the oldest original ships in the world don't miss this opportunity to see her. They used to only do tours during winter. But ask questions guides will have the answers. Enjoy as much as I did working there. Now go and have a great time there.
