Visited their cafe on a weekday. I went there because of the view. Food quality was satisfactory and service was attentive too. You can see the four lovely goats on a sunny day.

Not a lot of seats and it was quite full at 11:30am.

Besides the cafe and farm shop, there’s also a fishmonger. Not cheap but it is really hard to find a fish store in the area.

Great selection. Fancy items. But hella expensive. For example - La Tua Pasta (pumpkin) £8.55 for 250grams.
On La Tua website directly..£6.50.

Also Truffle Hunter White Truffle Oil - £12.40 in store - £9.95 direct from Truffle Hunter website..

There is making a profit and taking the..

This in my eyes is why physical stores are dying out…

Atrocious. Avoid if possible. Brought a little one for pancakes on Valentine's day to be told breakfast is over (11:45). Settled for a coffee and milk for the toddler. 15 minutes after paying I had to leave and seek food and drink elsewhere. Not even a look or a word... No excuse, no explanation - just ignored flat after paying. 15 minutes? For a first drink that is a glass of milk? Pathetic.

Not really how you treat someone who visits you twice a week...

Sadly I have to give a negative review for Hartley, this is a shame as the shop and the cafe are both very nice, the problem is the wait time for food. We’ve eaten at the cafe a number of times and every time have had to wait 30-40 mins for food, today was no exception and after waiting for ages on a work lunch break went up to cancel our order, upon doing so it transpired that our lunch order had not even been started yet which is really unacceptable.

Looking into the kitchen there is one lady working in there to serve about 10 tables, she looks completely exhausted and run off her feet and the kitchen clearly needs an extra pair of hands.

We won’t unfortunately be eating here again unless we hear of an improvement to the kitchen situation which is a shame. If you aren’t in a hurry and happy to wait then it’s great, if you are in a hurry then avoid.

Great cafe. No idea why it gets called “Harrods on the hill” as the cafe prices were very reasonable for high quality

We had a quiche with side salad and a soup of the day with baguette plus two cartons of juice and was just under £20

Shop is a bit pricey but offers some things you can’t find locally anywhere else

Visited for a coffee. Lovely festive Pumpkin spiced latte. Delicious and other festive drink options. We didn't eat. But the food being served looked lovely. Very busy, so I think that says it all

Loved this farm shop. High quality food and the butchers was one of the best we have been to, and we try a lot! Be sure to buy lots of their rib eye burgers 🙂 we spent about £50 at the butchers and it was more than 3 couples could eat, everything was delicious
