I experienced a severe breach of my privacy on the morning, [Date of Incident-25/06/2025]. I visited the hotel due to my office event and well before the designated check-out time 10 AM, my room was forcibly entered multiple time (though they came to know there was some one in the room)using a duplicate key without any prior knock or announcement .This unauthorized entry was a direct violation of my privacy and made me feel unsafe and disrespected.

Such an action is entirely unprofessional and unacceptable for any hotel, especially one that prides itself on guest comfort and security. It is a fundamental expectation that a guest's room will remain private until check-out, and your staff's actions clearly demonstrated a disregard for this basic principle.

I have requested a full explanation for this incident and the steps your hotel will take to ensure such a breach of privacy does not occur again to any guest.

Stayed for one night and whilst the room was very smart there were a few things amiss. There was only one sachet of coffee which we only found out after we arrived from our evening meal so too late to ask for more. One bedside light did not work and whilst a portable heater was provided (the heating was not on even as it was March) you could not use it to heat the bathroom hence cold in there The full English breakfast was excellent. Location was very good.

We had the most wonderful stay at Hastings House! From the moment I arrived, the hosts were so warm, welcoming, and attentive—they truly made me feel at home. The room was absolutely lovely, beautifully decorated, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The highlight, though, was the delicious full English breakfast—perfectly cooked and absolutely satisfying. Every detail of my stay was thoughtfully taken care of, and I couldn’t recommend Hastings House more for anyone visiting this seaside town. A perfect escape!

After seeing this hotel on the tv show '4 in bed' (when it actually won) I booked in for just for 1night in a supior sea view room. On the programm(appently recorded 5 years previously) the exterior of the hotel looked smart,well painted, crisp with clean paintwork,with potted plants at the entrance and a swept entranceway.....not so nowadays! The now grey exterior is drab & shabby,the welcoming plants have disappeared & the entrance was unswept,covered in dog hairs & bits of litter.The front door was locked with a message to phone a mobile number but just as we were going to do that we spotted someone at the back of the hallway so we knocked on the door.....apparently the owner pops in & out so arriving guests can chase her down. On entering we were hit with a strong stale smell mingled with 'dog' smells. The owner had greeted us,a very friendly lady. On entering our room we were pleased the windows had been opened to air the room. Whilst a reasonable size room all the surfaces were dusty,one bedside cabinet door hinge was broken, no handle on the wardrobe door meaning you have to bend down to open it at the bottom(no handle but no soft release). We were told that sandwiches,milk & biscuits were in our room but I sandwich(but 2 guests) & 3 biscuits,yes the opened milk was there. At least a fridge is a nice touch. On the hotel website it describes 5 star amenities,including inroom dvd player & slippers which were absent in our room.A coffee pod machine was in the room but with no pods. In the bathroom the 5 star amenities were half a bottle of Aldi hand wash,half a toilet roll & no soap,shampoo or conditioner & the toilet seat was broken on one side.I know we could have asked for the advertised 5 star amenities but for the rate of £180 a nite we should not have to ask. Overall,since the programme aired this b & b has lost its 5star sparkle & just feels like the enthusiasm has wained.In an advertised 5 star establishment I don't think the owners dogs walking around the breakfast room is offering the high standard the b & b say they give.The owner is a lovely lady,the staff are friendly & efficent but detail in cleaning throughout & replenishment of amenities is lacking......especially for £180 a night.

Very poor experience, when arriving at the property was talked through the key process which was easy to understand , when entering the room despite booking a room with a bath that would suit my wife’s need we had a shower , we also had less than a quarter of a toilet roll in the room and no soap in the hand soap dispenser , bird poo on the window yes I know this is a seaside town but this was not fresh bird poo , the bin in the bathroom had someone’s hair in the bin. I then get a text saying what is my name as I am not in their booking system as they could not access the booking system. There was no spare bog roll so I hunted in the cleaners cupboard and found a couple of other half used ones. Now paying £130 a night for what is deemed a luxury hotel a new bog roll and a few spares is not asking too much I mentioned the heating and like others was directed to a small room heater that had no effect on the bathroom during our stay I thought the idea of towel rails is they heat the towels dry at no point did the heating come on. We was then woken at about 3.00 by some idiots playing music very load at 3.00 I know hotels cannot be fully responsible for guests but it added to another part of a poor stay. We did choose this hotel as it was a winner of four in a bed but sadly this place is not what it used to be and if you cannot deliver the luxury experience don’t market it as one

Stayed at hastings house for 4 days on arrival we met Bev the owner really lovely lady our room was so Beautiful bathroom really clean large walk in shower so much luxury in the room and views of the sea ,lovely to wake up in the morning to the view ,and Amanda who helped us with our breakfast in the morning which were really tasty,the walk from warrior square to hasting is about 20 minutes and it's a lovely walk or you can just catch a bus ,Hastings has so much going for it we found every one be it cafe ,taxi ,museums really friendly oh and the museum & art gallery are a must would definitely stay here again

Turned up to check in to my booked room at 22:30 after a terrible journey from Leicester due to train issues all the way to find the place shut. Called the number to find it diverted to voicemail. Banged on the door - nothing.

The website says “Open 24 Hours” - apparently not. What a joke.

Update: No response to the voicemail I left. Ended up walking along to the The White Rock Hotel at 11pm, they were open and funnily enough, functioning as a hotel.

The guesthouse,staff and dog, took the edge off the funeral, having a very nice place to stay, with a really good breakfast menu.
It is on to town.
As Arnie said,"I'll BE BACK"
