We stayed at Swan Lodge for 4 nights for our 5th Wedding Anniversary. The whole experience was above and beyond anything we could have wished for. So peaceful. The breakfast hamper was lovely and the hugh bed was so comfy. The hot tub and sauna experiences were perfect. BBQ was amazing. The chickens came to us every day! We really didn't want to come home. Thank you so much - we'll certainly be back for a return visit.

What an amazing weekend away!! ||Myself and husband attended for our 10 year wedding anniversary and stayed on the Kingfisher Narrow Boat. It was picturesque, clean and very relaxing. We could not believe how private it was and did not see anyone other than the hosts and staff all weekend. The complimentary breakfast hamper was beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the chocolates, sausages and Columbian coffee bags (such a nice touch). ||Kitchen is very well equipped, we cooked our evening meal on the Friday and breakfast on Saturday and had everything we needed and more. Such beautiful décor and we were surprised how warm the boat was. (disappointed it wasn't colder so we could sample the fantastic fire ha ha). The bed was extremely comfortable and much larger than expected. ||The Hot Tub, steam room and sauna were all amazing and very clean. We had a great afternoon on the Saturday attending the sauna overlooking the duck pond followed by relaxing in the hot tub in the sunshine with the chickens roaming the garden. ||Upon the hosts recommendations on the app, we dined at the Blacksmiths in Clayworth on the Saturday. Both the service and food were wonderful. We also both travelled to the Blacksmiths and returned back using the recommended taxi service. Malcolm is a very pleasant man telling us some history of the local area. ||Josephine and Ronnie were very welcoming and could not do enough to ensure that our stay was as relaxing as possible. ||We both did not want to leave and came home feeling very relaxed and rejuvenated. ||Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We’ve just returned from a Mother and Daughter Birthday treat at the Hawthorne Hideaway and we couldn’t have had a better time! The boat was amazing, every detail was perfect. The facilities were 10/10, everything you needed for a perfect stay. The chickens arriving on the boat kept us company and the ducks on the river happily came past. ||The communication from Ronnie and Josephine was second to none and all the staff we met were lovely! Any questions or recommendations were always answered (and their Sunday lunch recommendation at the Mucky Duck was brilliant) |A one night stay on the Kingfisher barge wasn’t long enough! We will definitely be back again soon!

This was our second stay at Hawthorn Hideaway, this time we stayed in Owl Lodge, and it was just as magical as the first! From the moment we arrived, Jo and Ronnie, the amazing hosts, greeted us with their warm smiles and hospitality. They’re always ready to assist within minutes if you need anything, making the experience even more special.||The cabin is pure luxury, with a high-end kitchen and bathroom that really elevate the stay. The bed is extremely comfortable, with luxurious bedding that made it hard to get up in the morning! My personal favorite part, though, was the cozy log burner, which added to the charm and warmth of the lodge.||The sauna overlooking the large pond was a peaceful retreat where we could watch wildlife wander by, and the hot tub provided a perfect way to relax. The beautifully lit surroundings created an enchanting atmosphere in the evenings.||We loved the locally sourced produce for breakfast, and everything was spotless and immaculately clean. We can’t wait to return again and enjoy another perfect getaway with Jo and Ronnie!"

Absolutely wonderful time in Swan Lodge. I booked it as a surprise for 2 nights for my husbands birthday.|From booking to leaving, Ronnie and Josephine couldn't have been more helpful. They clearly care about their guests having a magical time.||The app and information is so helpful, that you just rock up, kick back and enjoy.||We stayed in Swan Lodge and it was perfect for us. Luxurious and clean and high quality furnishings and amenities. The little touches, such as the welcome basket with breakfast food and handmade chocolates was wonderful. ||The hot tub was fabulous, we enjoyed sitting out with twinkling fairy lights and our own garden area and visits from the chickens was so cute.||We'd booked the bbq cabin and bbq meat pack for our first evening and it was so much fun. My husband was thrilled I'd organised this. The meat and vegetables supplied was first class. We'd definitely recommend doing this. ||The next morning I'd booked the steam room, then sauna cabin for us and they were both lovely. Ronnie and Josephine were so helpful and had everything ready for us. Sat in the sauna looking out to the gorgeous view felt like we were in a different country. ||We were lucky with the weather and so had the pleasure of using the grounds and canal side and sitting out. ||The second evening after being out for the afternoon, we called into Misterton village and picked up a Chinese takeaway, which was lovely.||My husband said it was the nicest weekend away he'd had in a long time. So much nicer than sitting in a hotel room. We would highly recommend this couples retreat and will be back 🙂

Absolutely wonderful stay on the Kingfisher Boat! Everything was perfect! I love the chickens walking about and all the wildlife. The boat was warm and we had everything we need and more! Felt like a miniature house I could have stayed forever! Hot Tub was perfect. Beautiful location so quiet and tranquil. The most beautiful getaway. Loved the rowing boat it brought so much laughter and joy and so quiet on the canal. Loved the breakfast hamper! Love all the trees it's like a perfect fairy garden! Thank you to the wonderful hosts Jo and Ronnie you have made the most beautiful retreat and we will stay again! Thank you!!!

Wow what can I say, me and partner came for an intimate elopement. Wanting to enjoy our special day, just the two of us. Without all the added stress of a wedding. And oh my was it magical, Hawthorne hideaway was an absolute dream, the location is beautiful. It is so tranquil and peaceful. You literally feel so relaxed. We had a fantastic ceremony, and the fine dining experience was absolutely awesome. The yurt, was done beautifully. Josephine and Ronnie was great hosts and made sure everything went to plan. So we could enjoy the most of our romantic wedding weekend. If anyone is thinking about having a small intimate wedding or elopement, go for it as you won't regret it. Love Mr &Mrs Harrison x
