Just returned from a lovely break to Heathergate in a Whistler lodge.||Location:|It is just outside Hexham, in a rural location next door to an alpaca farm. The views from the lodges are over fields with cows. It's very peaceful and beautiful. The town of Hexham is ok. Not really a picturesque town that you would holiday to but we didn't visit here for Hexham itself necessarily. It was close by to some fun things we did such as falconry, paint a pot and wheelbirks, and some pretty villages such as corbridge. Quite a long way to the coast although do-able. ||Lodge:|Absolutely stunning. Arrived to a bottle of prosecco and some chutneys/crackers which was so nice. Very big. Impressive decor. We loved the walk in wardrobe in the bedroom and en suite with lovely big bath. One of the best lodges we have stayed in. All facilities provided (except no toaster). Plenty of usb charging points. Lovely, large hot tub overlooking the cow fields. Quite surreal laid in a hot tub watched by a cow.||The site:|The site is up a single track lane and is very peaceful. One big thing I need to mention is that it is not particularly a site set up for children. There were other children there, but on the odd time the kids played on the grassy areas they felt unwelcome and a man told them off one time so they wouldn't go out after that. I completely understand people want peace and quiet (I would too if I didn't have kids!) but this is certainly something to bear in mind that if you are wanting a site where children can play freely this is NOT it. There is no play equipment and I didn't feel kids were particularly welcome here. More of an adults site, or older/teenaged kids. I think there looked like there was a small pool being built and a tiny gym. I think it's mostly geared up to people who want to spend time in the lovely lodges or go exploring. ||I think I would have scored a 5 if I was travelling without kids. ||||

Having just arrived home after spending the weekend in lodge 51, the Whistler Deluxe lodge was just what we were looking for, well equipped, spotless and ideal for our family of 4. |Early contact from Damian who was so helpful throughout, messaging a map to the lodge location. |We have stayed in many lodges across the country and this has been the first to provide a welcome pack, as photographed in other guest pictures. |The decked area was secure and perfect for our 2 kids with a number of smoked glazed panels on each end of the deck, providing more privacy from neighbouring lodges whilst using the hot tub. |Beds were comfortable and there was everything we could have ever needed in the kitchen area. |Ideally situated with a short drive away from Hexham and within minutes of main routes to both Newcastle and Carlisle. |Really can’t say enough about this place and will hopefully be back again next year at some point. |Strongly advise some time spent a Heathergate Country Park, you will not be disappointed.

I can't fault this lovely place. We stayed in one of the Portland luxury lodges. It was absolutely immaculate and very clean. Lots of thought and care had obviously been put into making the lodge beautifully equipped and dressed, with loads of space and everything you could need for a relaxing and indulgent stay. Loved the walk-in wardrobes and the pantry cupboard and, of course, the fantastic hot tub. The views from the lodge were gorgeous and we thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset from the hot tub.The staff are really lovely and answered all our questions patiently. It is in a great location with amazing views but close to Hexham for shops and restuarants. Highly recommended for a very relaxing stay with great attention to detail.

My partner and I decided to have a few days away together before Christmas but it was important to us to do it safely with covid still looming. We decided on Heathergate Boutique Country Park after a glowing recommendation and could not be happier that we did. We stayed in a lodge on the new development and neither of us can remember a more relaxing time! The lodge was nothing short of stunning, they had even decorated it for Christmas which really added to the magic. On the first night we went to Hexham for a drink and a truly gorgeous meal in Bouchon, then back to our private sunken hot tub on our decking, under the stars. It was heaven. The views were breath taking, the staff so lovely and friendly and the lodge just exceeded every single expectation. Now all we can think about it when we can get back there and when can we talk about buying a holiday home there!!! We have already booked another weekend in the new year. Counting down the days!
