Lovely hotel. Management and staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely to drop bags off a few hours before check in and go out and about. Great breakfast kept us going all day. The bed was probably the most comfortable we’ve slept in when staying in a hotel and the shower was always lovely and warm no need to mess with it just switch on and get in. Ideal having a car park as you can park up and forget about driving as all the amenities are well within walking distance……probably 10-15 minutes.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely book in future

Stayed here for three nights in a family suite with 4 beds with my family of four. It was pretty good. Location was excellent— easy 10 minute walk from the train station and to the city centre. The service was very good. The room was a little disappointing — it was reasonably clean and sized, but fairly worn with older decor. And the bathroom was tiny — barely enough room to dry off after a shower and no place to store toiletries. This was not clear from online photos. Beds and bedding were fairly comfortable. Bath towels were clearly old, and some were a little ragged. The best part of the place is the rear garden, which is quite nicely decorated and has a wonderful hot tub. Overall, pretty good place and very good value.

Lovely hotel. The management and staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and the bed was probably the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in when staying in a hotel. The shower was excellent always lovely and hot.
Was very good having parking as we could park up and leave the car and walk to all the amenities as they were only 10-15 minutes away.
The breakfast was excellent and kept us going all day.
Would definitely recommend this hotel and if we visit York again we will definitely book again

Stayed for 1 night. Owners were lovely and friendly and were very helpful. Our room was excellent clean and airy and had everything you needed. Breakfast was very nice the hotel was absolutely lovely even had a jacuzzi for guest to use. Had a beautiful outdoor seating area. Our stay at this hotel was excellent 👌 definitely recommend. Thanks for the jump start yous went above and beyond definitely be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Enjoyed my stay at Hedley as always. In a great location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast delicious. Had an evening meal with my elderly parents and they were so well looked after. Nothing to dislike here. Home from home.Thank you.

What a hotel! |We picked this place originally on location. ||It’s a 10 min walk to the York minister, parking at the back and even has insight masseuse and hot tub. ||We arrived early and out room was ready which was a bonus. Our room was huge! Very clean and the nicest bed I have ever slept in! ||We had room 2, it was so quiet peaceful, There is a hairdryer provided and shampoos and body wash if needed. ||My finance surprised me with a massage and it was the best I have ever had with pracilla. I am a regular at having massages but this was amazing!!! ||When heading down for breakfast, you have a sheet to fill in for hot food and it’s collected.||Everything about the stay was lovely! Staff were very friendly, even the hotel dog.||We will deffo be back.., thank you

We booked through Booking.com. When we arrived we discovered that Booking.com (not Hedley House) had wrongly worded the description of our room as having a sitting room area. I don't sleep well, so having somewhere to get up to was important to us. My husband mentioned this to reception and we were given an extra room, opposite ours, to use at no extra cost! The owner even reminded us over the next few days to feel free to use it as we wished. They also immediately contacted Booking.com to change the description.||Our family room worked well, it was very spacious with a HUGE double bed in one room and 2 full sized singles in an adjoining room, as well as a small vestibule area with coat hooks. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I actually managed to sleep all night for the first time in a very long time.||Breakfast was fresh and delicious with an excellent selection, and special requests were happily accommodated.||The location is excellent, perfectly placed between the Railway Station and the city centre in a quiet residential street of beautiful townhouses.||Without exception, the staff were all friendly, welcoming and accommodating, making you feel like you were visiting your Auntie! The lady who checked us in even went out of her way to wave to us when we passed her in York City Centre!||I would absolutely recommend Hedley House Hotel and would definitely stay here again if visiting York.||Thanks again xx

We had a lovely weekend stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't dine in the evening, but the breakfast was well cooked with good choice. The hot tub is a great way to relax in the evenings after a day of site seeing. Lovely family run hotel, would recommend and will certainly stay here again.
