When we arrived there was only one member of staff on reception who was rushed off her feet. Even though she was obviously juggling checking in multiple guest she was very professional & polite.|We had been given an upgrade & our room was extremely comfortable. The bed & pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was spotlessly clean & the shower very good.|We ate in the restaurant & the food was wonderful. Once again the staff were very polite & friendly.|Breakfast didn’t disappoint either, quality components made for a very tasty offering.|We stayed for 2 night & were attending a wedding on the Saturday. As we were getting ready in the room the house keeping staff were unable to get into the room. They knocked & provided us with clean towels & gave us top up loo rolls, once again friendly & polite.|Check out was swift. |We have no complaints regarding our stay, it was very pleasurable.

Me and my partner went for Valentine’s Day and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect 2 days. They arranged flowers, sean towels and it was great! The sauna, pool and gym are also amazing! The bed was very comfy although it was 2 split mattresses rather than just 1 superking mattress

We stayed here this weekend as a 2 friends needing some relaxation time and our stay here absolutely delivered! We were greeted warmly by Kelly on arrival and she kindly allowed us to check into our rooms early as our room was ready. Mike, the General Manager was passing as we arrived and welcomed us to the hotel and then personally showed us to our room. This extra touch was so appreciated.

Our room was spotless, welcoming and spacious. It also opened out until fields which was a lovely view.

We then ventured to the spa which was our favourite part of our stay. The spa is again spotless and well maintained. Our treatment was so relaxing, we both nearly fell asleep! Our therapists were professional and friendly. The spa area has everything you would need from sauna, to hydro pool and jacuzzi. A real treat.

We went to dinner in the Lakes restaurant at the hotel. The food was excellent, clearly of great quality. The house wine was very good too!

The decor is traditional but well maintained and it is apparent that the staff really care about their hotel.

As an events organiser who visits hotels around the world on a regular basis, I was so impressed with this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend to others.

Stayed for Valentines, we were told there was no availability at the restaurant, but we could "order a domino's". No available spa treatments for that day or the following. Paid 275 for 1 night. Not a country house,||Complained about this, asked for a refund, as due to being disheartened wanted to go home. This wasn't an option, and they managed to get a table booked for 20:30 - they changed the room due to the Ashby suite being rather modern, let alone the bed cover missing several buttons. Changed to executive and again, for the price you can stay in much better facilities. The bed and design were much of an Older style but the bed clip that attached the two bed didn't actually connect to them, and just hung loosely to the side. One mattress was slightly bigger so there was height difference, causing a raise in the centre of the bed. Pillows very small and didn't compliment the bed. They provide a shower cap, shampoo/conditioner/body wash (shared) no other toiletries.||Food was lovely albeit the service was poor, at dinner a raspberry daiquiri was ordered and a strawberry one delivered and yet no explanation - I can imagine they ran out, it was hard to order a drink. The service seemed like a struggle for them. Breakfast - orange juice is concentrated not fresh, toast is cold. Again drinks - ordered a latte and cappuccino. The latte was given to one gentleman, which he hadn't ordered sitting with his wife, the waiter then comes over and gave us the cappuccino. Realising that they had made the mistake.||For the price that you pay for this venue, it is not what you would then expect.||After talking to management they didn't see much wrong with anything and were quite rude nor did they offer anything in the fact that we had such a shambles of what was meant to be a entertaining and relaxing stay.||Very disappointing.||Nor good value for money. For the same money you can stay a little further away in Canterbury in The Corner House

With some friends we booked to take part in a Murder Mystery Event at Hempstead House. All the communications were excellent, from our initial booking right through to the pre -arrival email. |We were warmly greeted at the door by staff who offered to take our coats. As there were only of us we were placed at a table with another group of 4. The food was delicious, the service great and the actors were wonderful. The evening was so enjoyable, good food, great entertainment and a good deal of laughter. We hope to attend the next one later this year

From the moment I spoke to Kelly on the telephone to pre book the Hotel, I had a very good vibe about the venue. Kelly clearly loves her job and is a credit to the Hotel. She explained everything in detail to us. We just stayed one night and used the Spa in the afternoon which was immaculate and ate in the Restaurant in the evening, enjoying delicious food.|The only downside was that we had Room 12 which is next to 2 store cupboards so the house keeping staff were up early and there was lots of banging at 6.30am but we would definitely stay again but choose a different room.

My friend and I did the spa day on a Saturday here. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, the aromatherapy facial was amazing, and the 2 course lunch also really good quality food (recommend the chicken salad and the ice cream). The spa was really fancy but smaller than I had thought, as it is all in one big room, a big pool and a jacuzzi and a very mini steam room and sauna, though it all looks really beautiful. Also there are only 3 loungers for the whole area which aren't that comfy and otherwise some hard backed chairs quite close to the pool. You get a robe and slippers and towel to spend the day in. I would go again especially for the treatments and food.
