Heron Cottage - Ashford

Five families, comprising of 10 adults and 3 children rented this beautiful cottage for 4 nights over new year. We had a fabulous time in truly stunning surroundings. The bed rooms were well laid out and majority were on suite. The dining room was spacious and ideal for seating a large group when we ate in. A few minor criticisms and the only reasons this property didn't get 5 stars were that some of the showers were only warm when we showered at the same time. Also Internet and wifi coverage was very hit and miss. Although we were on holiday, we still required access to the Internet to plan days out and catch up With email. A bigger TV with Sky Sports would have made a huge difference to our group as we spent a few nights wanting to catch up with sport. A pool table or similar for kids would not go a miss either and provide additional options for the children. All said and done, improved Internet access, a plasma TV with Sky and hot showers would have given this property 5 stars. We will settle for 4 as these were important enough to our family to make a difference. Would highly recommend to all though.

The setting for the two cottages that comprise Heron cottage itself, can only be described as idyllic. A lovely huge pond with abundant wildlife is on its doorstep and forms the fantastic view from every room bar the bathroom. The facilities provided are excellent and the quality is very good. ||The headroom in the bedrooms and bathroom is a little confined and limited due to the restrictions placed upon the conversion by planners, but this in no way detracted from the enjoyment and pleasure that my partner and myself experienced in this delightful setting. Eating on the patio, beside the large pond was an absolute joy. We found the lady owner to be friendly and helpful and had some very pleasant chats with her during our stay. It was, in fact, such a good experience, that we rearranged our schedules so that we could stay an extra night.||All in all, a very memorable stay in a very comfortable cottage, in a delightfully scenic setting, which I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone who wouldn't find the headroom in the upstairs rooms a problem.

We stayed only for one night as we were travelling back from our vineyard. On arrival we received a lovely warm welcome with tea and biscuits served to us in the living room. The bedroom was lovely and the bed comfortable . The breakfast was excellent too. We went to the West House restaurant in Biddenden for an evening meal (which was brilliant.). We would definitely stay again.

Nice last B&B stay of our holiday in this sturdy B&B in the very beautiful rural setting of Kent. ||The house was reached over a long field road from the gate outside Biddenden. ||We were the only guests and the room was prepared for us upon our arrival (we did not reserve).||The room itself was spacious and fitted with all appliances required. We were welcomed with tea in the guest lounge. The views from our bedroom were splendid and the silence surrounding this house was remarkable and rare to our modern world.||The bed was large but a bit old and made with blankets instead of duvets.||Breakfast was OK.

We stayed here in August. While I cant fault the accomodation . Beautiful house set in acres of land. The welcome was certainly not what we would expect. The hostess was cold and not very welcoming. Seems like she only wants your money. ||Also breakfast is very small.

Had a lovely surprise booking this b&b as it wasn't advertised too much. Beautiful location, comfy rooms, great breakfast and host...loved the alpacas in the field next door too! Would have loved wifi but it is also good to get away from it!!
