A Family Walking Adventure on the Isle of Wight

Our recent week-long walking holiday with HF Holidays on the Isle of Wight was a fantastic experience for our family. The variety of walks, combined with the stunning coastal scenery and friendly atmosphere, made it a truly memorable trip.

The walk leaders were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and ensured that everyone felt comfortable and included. They were able to cater to different fitness levels and interests, making the walks enjoyable for all. The only minor setback was a day of rainy weather, but even that didn't dampen our spirits thanks to the walk leaders' ability to adapt the itinerary.

The service at the house was impeccable. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always went the extra mile to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. The food was delicious, and the accommodation was clean and comfortable.

Overall, we would highly recommend HF Holidays for family walking holidays. The Isle of Wight was a beautiful destination, and the organisation of the trip was excellent. We can't wait to embark on another adventure with them in the future.

Fantastic staff. Really helpful. Totally accommodating towards my GF & vegan diet. Always friendly and cheerful. Great food. The lads in the kitchen & the folks that clean the rooms deserve a huge thankyou! Great walking. Great location.

I returned to HF Holidays in 2022 having been very disappointed with the food in the last two places I visited in the late 1990s. The three holidays I have been on have been super, once again, as they were 30 years ago.

This time the venue is beautiful and Isle of Wight is beautiful and the food which has a vegan option for most items was very nice. These recent stays I have not had to worry about adverse reactions to my food sensitivities because HF now take much more care about. They used to particularly good before, but they changed for a while.

My only complaint is that the dining, bar and ballrooms are very echoe, and I had to leave them when the tinnitus I have become uncomfortable.

Pictures are Cheese cake, but this is the vegan alternative, Walk to the Needles, Freshwater bay from the garden at the house, Freshwater bay and lovely clean swimming pool.

For walking holidays with a guide, HF is great. Good food served in the dining room, comfortable rooms and excellent walks, with a choice of different lengths/ difficulty each day. Beautiful location overlooking Freshwater Bay. Swimming pool was closed at end of summer so couldn't use that during my visit in October.

HF Holidays is a great organization with daily guided hikes. Delicious meals, expert hiking guides. I had a great time!

Filling menu sheets in every day is a pain when you're on holiday. The system of sandwiches and other food is so limited, why can't it go back to the old system, with plenty of choice instead of same every day Swimming pool only open for three hours a day😩 that is so bad I'm disabled and was looking forward to being in or by the pool., seems ridiculous. Also not having rooms tidied up also ridiculous. Rooms were all mixed up on arrival fortunately I got the ground floor. The shower however was tiny with a corner opening. I'm sure even an able bodied person would struggle to get in and out of it! Some of the other rooms had baths with showers in them which was fine for the younger ones but not for my 83 year old mum who was also on the top floor!. Fortunately she could manage but it was a trek for her. Yes COVID has changed things but surely now you should be back to normal. After all the holidays are really expensive considering you could go abroad for less!
