Just returned from a visit to Durham and Beamish and enjoyed a great stay at High View. Geoff is a wonderful host and welcomed us to his quite immaculate Guest House. Plenty of off road parking and set in a very quiet part of Brandon with far reaching views. Our room was first class, spacious, clean and very comfortable. A bonus is that just a couple of minutes walk away there is a bus service into the centre of Durham which operates every ten minutes. So we were able to park up and let someone else worry about navigating around the city.||A great choice at breakfast which was delicious and set us up for the day.||If you're heading in this area you should definitely try High View. It will certainly be our first choice when back in this area.||Thank you Geoff and Beverley.

Away from the hussle of Durham is this family home B&B. You're immediately greeted with a warm smile. Rooms feel large & luxurious. Its a shared bathroom but very poshly decorated & meticulously maintained. The comfiest bed Ive had whole trip. Its also near a wonderful family pub called Brawns Den w/exotic milkshakes. Can't wait for breakfast tomorrow. Thank u for having us!

I booked this bed and breakfast for my partner and I and our friends, we had two of the three rooms available and both were outstanding. The host Geoff and his daughter made our stay a really pleasant one and added to what was a fantastic weekend away. Ideal for visiting Durham and the many attractions in the area; we used it as a base for visiting Kynren and Beamish Museum. I would recommend to anyone.

Great b and b near Durham. The rooms were immaculately clean. The owners were lovely and the breakfasts were great! We really enjoyed our stay. Very nicely styled and comfortable rooms. Would definitely stay there again.

Lovely bed and breakfast. Good location for getting into Durham City by car. Friendly and welcoming - very clean guest house, and fantastic cooked breakfast. The room was very comfortable and warm, with an amazing view towards the east.

We arrived, after an 8 hour journey, to a very warm welcome by Geoff, the owner.||We were shown around this beautiful guest house and to our fabulous room and facilities. ||Geoff then directed us to a local pub, only a short walk away for our evening meal.||The following morning we were served an amazing breakfast, second to none, cooked by Geoff’s daughter Beverly.||We would unreservedly recommend High View guest house for the exceptional hospitality, excellent facilities and decor and finally the delicious and plentiful breakfast.||We will not consider anywhere else on our return to the area.||Many thanks,||Margaret and Brian from Pembrokeshire.

Beautifully presented and scrupulously clean, we were welcomed by Geoff and shown to a beautiful double room.|It could have been a boutique hotel but for the fact that there was only 1 bathroom. We needn't have worried though as we were the only ones in on that Saturday evening.|The bathroom too was beautifully appointed and with complementary toiletries.|In the room, we found nice tea and coffee making facilities with a hairdryer and even a phone charger, and also lovely white towels and a robe. We were also shown to the lounge downstairs which was peaceful and comfortable.|The next morning we were given a choice of full English and / or Continental breakfast and chose the English which was cooked to perfection by Bev, Geoffs daughter.|Having filled our tummys we then set off on a leisurely 30ish minute drive to Beamish|We would definitely recommend and return to this home from home.

Very clean, great breakfast (cooked at the time you request) and very friendly and helpful staff. The only downside that stopped a 5 star review is the shared bathroom and the distance from Durham if you aren't driving (£10 one way in a taxi, £3 single fare on the bus). Other than that no complaints at all.
