We stayed for 2 nights over a weekend to attend a wedding at the nearby Trevenna. |The whole place was very homely and the room was very clean throughout. |Gill is a fantastic host and as previously mentioned, was happy to drop us off at the wedding venue. |The quality of breakfast was very high. The full English and the scrambled egg with smoked salmon were all cooked beautifully. |Only 5 minutes by car from Trevenna, so ideal if you're not staying at the venue. |Thoroughly recommended.

We booked this fantastic B&B for two nights either side of a wedding we attended at Trevenna very close by. What we found could not have better. The house is charming, the room we had was comfortable, spotlessly clean with a well proportioned shower in the en suite. When we booked we explained the reason for our trip and Gill very kindly offered to take us to the venue on Saturday, and gave us the number of a local taxi who picked us up again that night. Gill was extremely friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. What a kind and interesting lady who we could have chatted to for hours at a time. Breakfast was lovely too. Fresh fruit salads and cereals, followed by a perfectly cooked full English! Nobody goes hungry here!! This really is a great B&B and Gill really is the perfect hostess! Can't wait to return!

We were welcomed by our hosts and shown to our accommodation, then given a lovely tea and homemade cake, delicious. The room was spacious and well appointed with a spacious ensuite. Breakfast were the best we have ever had and fresh bread everyday. We enjoyed the company of our hosts each evening as they were such fabulous company, they made our stay a very special one, we didn't want to leave. A big thanks to both of you for a wonderful break, we will definitely be back.

There are only few words to describe this B&B: perfect.. fantastic... wonderful, etc||We stayed 3 nights during our trip in Cornwall and as we were the only guests we got the suite in this B&B. Clean, spacious and comfortable and not to forget the friendly and sympatic Gil, lady of the house, who served every morning an excellent breakfast.||Needles to say this is a place to go back although it is in the middle of nowhere: but this is called the Moors !

The accommodation was top class and the hosts were great. There was a wonderful variety of choices for breakfast and the food itself was first class and prepared and cooked to perfection. The location of Higher Searles Down couldn’t be better with some fantastic places to walk, run or drive to visit with Colliford lake right on the doorstep. Some may like it hot but we loved the moors. 

We had a great stay at Higher Searles Down. The accommodation is spotlessly clean, the bed really comfortable. Emma is lovely and very helpful with when we needed it. Bodmin Moor is very peaceful - a great place to come back to after a busy day sightseeing. Easy to get to, lots of tourist attractions from the property along with north and south coasts. We will definitely return. Thanks for a great stay!

What a find, we immediately felt at home with a warm welcome and tea with home made fruit cake in the lounge. We had a very comfortable room with ensuite shower room and a lovely view of the garden. Excellent breakfast, with lots of choice and home baked fresh bread. We stayed just two nights but by the time we left we felt more like we were leaving friends. We will certainly visit again if we are in the area.

I can't fault this B&B, we stayed here as our friends were having their wedding reception at Trevenna Barns. It was only up the road from the venue so I emailed Gill to confirm details. Gill couldn't haven't been any nicer, she is such a lovely lady who is very caring and thoughtful. Gill offered to take us from the B&B to the venue to allow us to leave our car at the B&B after checking in, (we checked in early after the church service, which Gill kindly allowed) this was such a kind offer. On arrival Gill welcomed us with open arms and the offer of a cup of tea. We got shown to our room, which was a lovely setting, good sized room, double bed, shower/bathroom and some lovely added extras to help with our stay. We left off our bags and informed Gill of our breakfast times and what we wanted. Gill then kindly took us to the venue. We chatted on the way, she even offered to lend me a shawl. Such a lovely lady.|Gill gave us the number of the local taxi man prior to our stay, which I pre-booked. We got back around 1am and had a lovely sleep. We went down for breakfast, which was set in a lovely sitting room over looking the countryside. Gill was busily cooking away and had made fresh bread for us and a fresh pot of tea. 2 cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. Amazing! |I can not fault this B&B, Gill made our stay so lovely, even only for the one night. It's the little things that count. Higher Searles Down is such a sweet little B&B with such a caring host. |If I'm ever in the area again I will be returning. |I highly recommend this B&B to anyone needing a nice, warm, clean place that has a homely feeling with a great host.
