After a good couple of hours walking it’s a good place to refresh and refuel before heading onward. We had the latte frappe and a slice of white chocolate topped brownie. Both were incredibly tasty. The place was really busy but the staff were working their socks off and keeping up with demand. It was a little bit pricey but that’s expected being the only refreshments in a tourist hotspot. If you sit outside like we did, don’t be surprised if you make some feathered friends. The local birds are very brave and will come right up to you for a crumb or two. The area is dog friendly but dogs are not permitted inside the cafe.

I had a manky bacon sandwich which cost 5.50,gave most to the dog.
My partner had a baguette for 9.50 ,bland cheese and some tomato.
The rest of the order didn't turn up.
Coffee was cold.
Next time we would take a picnic, plenty of grass to sit on and plenty of room for Kids to play.
Great walk to Hegestbury Head along the sand, gravel beach.
Dog freindly Beach,not to busy.
As you'd expect expensive parking.

After walking our dog on the beach we decided to pop in to grab a coffee. I don't normally bother to eat out as I am coeliac. Glanced at the menu and ordered a tuna and cheese gluten free toastie. It was amazing and I even got offered brown seeded or white bread. My husband enjoyed his bacon roll but for me this was a brilliant experience. Thank you so much.

Excellent, had a lovely vegan sausage roll, hot oat milk lattes were great and they serve all the jimmys! Ate outside, lots of tables, god atmosphere and flock of starlings (don't feed them!) - went on a cold, miserable day, will be back in the sunshine.
Electric bike and scooter area right outside, has ice cream kiosk open on sunny days

Previously visited (too many times to count). The food is tasty & delicious. Never a bad day at the office for the chef/s here always a good level of consistency. The staff are pretty young here (always have been) overall pretty efficient though. Lovely views to enjoy alongside the great food.

Love letter to the Hiker Cafe Apple Pie

The apple pie in the Hiker Cafe is possibly one of the best foods on earth. I have never had an apple pie so full of apple and with such delicate sweet pastry. I don’t know how a dessert can feel so nostalgic and comforting when I don’t even know the person who makes it. Whoever you are, please never change the recipe. It is the perfect level of tartness and boy do you get a good portion! Served with clotted cream, I get this every time I am in Bournemouth and always greatly look forward to it. I am never disappointed and I couldn’t recommend anything more. The Hiker Cafe is a proper caff, the chips are piping hot, breakfast galore and the hot chocolate is also to die for! Hiker Cafe - please never change. The caffs in Bournemouth are disappearing and the classic feeling of Britishness caff food is also fleeting. Nothing beats this cafe!
