Another lovely stay with Mal. He is such a wonderful host. Everything is so well organised on arrival. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well equipped with tea, coffee, biscuits etc. Mal always provides a brilliant cooked breakfast with all the extras. Whenever we are in the area, we stay with Mal and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. We highly recommend a stay with Mal.

I stayed here last night whilst attending a course at the Rocking Horse Company in Fangfoss. I hardly ever stay in a B&B but this was amazing. A superb bright and spacious room, plenty of tea, coffee & biscuits along with fresh milk, a small desk, seating area and sky tv . The bathroom was functional with a qwerky shower - fine if you read the instructions.|The breakfast was terrific with delicious locally sourced bacon sausage & eggs. |Malcolm is a great host and if I ever have need to be back in the area then I would book without hesitation!

The Perfect B&B. Host Mal could not be bettered, neither could the room or proper Yorkshire breakfast, great tea, great coffee. All you could want. En-suite shower Excellent, towels soft, kettle in room with plenty of tea and coffee and delicious short bread biscuits 😋

We’ve just come home from a weekend away in York staying at Hillcroft B and B. Mal, the host, offers you a 5* stay in his home. He’s thought of everything you could possibly want right down to slippers! The rooms (2&3) are perfect and the sitting room (plus real fire) make it a home away from home. The breakfast is all local produce and the portions were enough to keep us full until dinner time. I honestly can’t recommend this b and b highly enough and my mum and I are already planning our next trip back there.

Mal is a great host, gave us lots of good tips (places to visit, pubs to go eat). Great sense of humour, we enjoyed our conversations. And he is a good cook, lovely english breakfast with fresh food from the butcher’s.||Park and ride to York is close and easy. Lots of places to visit nearby and York is very animated.||The room is fine, everything clean, we had an incredible double bed, rarely slept so well (i’m big and heavy, my wife is the opposite but it was as if we had two seperate beds)||We fully recommend. Cheers Mal !

Mel was so helpful. He locked our bikes in the shed for us. The room was lovely, fresh flowers, chocolates, fresh milk in the fridge. Nice pub 3 min walk away for dinner. Breakfast was good, nice fresh eggs. Bike and pet friendly. Enjoyed our conversation with Mel. Lovely garden to sit. Definitely would stay again. Very clean, nothing too much trouble.

When going on holiday I love to find a home away from home and will always choose a B&B over a hotel. I felt instantly at home at Mals. The room was spacious and clean. I had a locked shed to store my bicycle. And the delicious cooked breakfasts were always a great start to a long day on the bike. Thanks Mal! Highly recommended.

We cannot recommend Mal’s B&B enough. He was incredibly welcoming when we arrived and friendly throughout our stay. ||The room we stayed in was nicely decorated and well presented. The plentiful amenities were greatly appreciated and of top quality; fresh milk, water, tea, coffee, chocolates and biscuits greeted us. We were also supplied with slippers and good quality shampoo and shower gel which all added to our comfort. The bed was comfortable and the shower was very powerful. The good sized TV and Sky box were a welcome addition we enjoyed whilst sitting in the lounge area in our room. The light and airy double aspect made it a really lovely place to enjoy a cup of tea and biscuit! ||The breakfast was one of the very best we have enjoyed at a hotel/b&b. The produce was extremely fresh and of a very high quality. Butchers sausages and bacon were cooked to perfection. Mal enjoyed conversation with us as we ate but also gave us space to enjoy our own company. Perfectly pitched breakfast setting. ||We will be back to stay and frankly cannot wait!
