I work away all year round, and I've stopped at in so many hotels. But after 19 years I was pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel was. First impression was excellent. Reception looked nice well maintained and modern looking. The staff was more than welcoming. The room was clean again well maintained. Restaurant and bar was clean, food was very nice and the staff friendly. Martine and Alex from reception was really good nothing was to much trouble. I'm a IHG member and have stopped in over hundred ihg hotels and this is one of the best.

Excellent hotel. Great facilities including restaurant/bar. Comfortable rooms. Great with our small child. Staff were excellent - happy to help with anything we needed. We've stayed 3 times so far and expect to return.

We have just spent one night en route to Wales. |Our stay was a disaster. |When we booked with Expedia , I contacted Tommy In reservations at the hotel to request a quiet room on an upper floor. He understood our concerns about the Christmas party noise and allocated the best room for us. Brilliant service from Tommy. |We arrived and went to our room, in need of rest before a long journey, the next day. From that moment things went wrong. |We had a nice snack in the bar, but my husband was given a container of butter for his bread. He didn’t realise it had completely melted, obviously not in fridge, and on opening it went all over his trousers and shoes. I managed to wash the trousers overnight, but the shoes are covered with grease marks. I’ll be trying to resolve this when I get home l, but if it cannot be removed I will be sending the bill to holiday inn. |The food was good. We then returned to our quiet room at about 8 pm to get some rest. I could hear loud music and shouting and assumed it was the Christmas party, which surprised me. |In fact, it was the room next door, and they clearly had a party going on. Probably four people. |At 10 pm we had to change rooms. We were given exactly what I didn’t want, a room on the ground, floor, small, hot and uncomfortable. |But we needed the rest. We were then woken at 3 am by people sitting on the benches outside having a conversation! |We had no rest at all. |Breakfast the next morning was good with the exception of the totally unprofessional female manager who was going round and moaning to staff about where the salt and paper was on the table. All of this berating should not have been in the earshot of many customers. Totally unacceptable|Finally, at no point in this stay were we acknowledged as members of the loyalty scheme. |I appreciate it was not a direct booking, but I always send you my number and expect to be appreciated. |So in short, a terrible stay never to be repeated. |The public rooms are very nice, cleanliness throughout is outstanding but the bedrooms at the premier inn are superior. |I’ll be letting you know about the shoes!

On arrival martine welcomed us with a big smile and friendly attitude. We didn’t feel rushed and she helped us with restaurant recommendations aswell. This was a great start to the experience which so far is going great! The rooms are clean and smell fresh. Even better the TV greeted us with a lovely message on the screen, giving us useful information for our stay here. Will definitely be coming back!

Service was spot on in this purpose built hotel. Rooms were spacious, well appointed, and everywhere was clean. The only gripe I had was I woke up in the early hours and the room was roasting hot, I didn't locate the aircon immediately and opened a window. Other than the heat, the stay was ideal, thanks

Reception, bar and restaurant area are large open areas and a cut above usual Holiday inn.

Reception staff don't treat you as just another guest and engage in conversation (if you wish).

Jo on reception was a true star working her way through all our bookings to ensure the stay was seamless and without problem.

I did not get name of manager but noticed that he was there to support staff and ensure customers got the best service. He seemed very hands on (in a good way) and I have no doubt he is more than instrumental in the fantastic way the hotel is run.

10/10 on this one. THIS HOTEL SHOULD BE HELD UP AS THE BENCHMARK FOR ALL HOLIDAY INNS.

Special mention to the waitress who served us (forgot name but had slight red tint to her hair). Her experience shone through, and she did an amazing job each night, this in turn made the stay even better.

The young lady at the reception was a breath of fresh air. Her welcome was one of the best we have received in many years. She caught us at the door, kept eye contact throughout, and checked us in in no time. She even managed to tell us a little story about her grandmother in that time! We wish her and the whole reception team all the very best. Great work!

Alex was obviously inexperienced but he managed everything with efficiency, he was very helpful, and apologetic for keeping me waiting while he consulted his colleague. I didn't mind waiting at all, everyone has to start somewhere and I felt very relaxed whilst waiting. Alex's colleague gave me a voucher for a free drink as a goodwill gesture - I appreciated this, although I had not expected it.
The room was lovely, I had asked for a quiet room and this is what I got. It was very clean and had all the facilities I was expecting. I relaxed easily and slept well.
Breakfast was excellent.
Check out was easy.
I definitely recommend this hotel.
