I have stayed at this hotel a number of times this year. The staff are always very welcoming and recognition of my status is always good. The rooms are quite spacious and well equipped.

I only have one minor comment and that is breakfast. There is a good selection of hot food, but I rarely take this option. I prefer a light breakfast of cereals, juice and pastries. The croissants and pastries are always cold, small and somewhat hard. They are not a patch on the pastries offered at the Holiday Inn at Dumfries, which are much bigger, are served warm and generally have a fresh appearance. Hopefully this can be improved at Scotch Corner in the future, as I have plans to stay there again over the next few months!

Almost very good. We do have an issue with service charge on dinner, bed and breakfast.

We paid £160 for dbb and were told our evening meal allowance was £35 per person.

When we came to settle up a £13.50 service charge was added to the bill taking us over the £70 limit for the two of us.

Why is this? We weren’t informed that a service charge was to be added.

There was also a £1 service charge on 2 coffees but no charge on beer brought at the bar.

Secondly, there was no decaf coffee in for breakfast. All establishments should be able to offer decaf at breakfast.

Family of 4 (8 and 7) year old. One night stop over from Scotland on way to Leeds.
The only negative... Had a meal which included 2 pizza's in the the Italian restaurant. They were terrible, especially for the price... about £17 each, like a frozen pizza you would pop in the oven for a quick meal.

Everything else was great... Staff were really friendly, pool was amazing, lovely comfortable temperature. Rooms had everything needed for a nice overnight stay. Beds comfortable. The football table for kids to play with in the bar are was a nice touch. The breakfast was brilliant and lots of choice. We will stay again I'm sure when on our travels.

Room was a good size but the bed was small. No heated towel rail in the bathroom.
TV was huge. Plenty of electrical sockets where they're needed. Breakfast was very good, especially the fried eggs
Would stay again if they sort out the jacuzzi in the health club.

The room is lovely and has everything you need. Very clean and well presented, however the bed was SO uncomfortable. I think there may have been an issue with the mattress or even the actual bed. The mattress kept sinking towards the middle and to the headboard. Our feet were higher than our heads once laid flat and there was a ditch in the centre of the bed.

We broke a long drive by staying here overnight. This is the old Scotch Corner Hotel, revamped and brought up to date. The room had everything I expected, but the one thing that I have to criticise is the lighting, which was dire. There was no light at all on the desk, although there were plenty of sockets for 3-pin plugs and USBs. In the bathroom, the only light was behind my head when I was facing the mirror, and the bedside lights were shaded enough to make it difficult to read in bed, which I like to do. However the staff were all friendly and helpful, and there was a good range of tasty food for both dinner and breakfast.

Excellent hotel will definitely stay again. My room was really nice and well equipped. The staff were very polite. I thought it might be a bit noisy because of it’s location but I slept well every night. The Christmas decorations were also a nice touch.

I like this hotel to enable us to visit the surrounding area of north Yorkshire which is lovely, the hotel facilities are a bonus. The staff very friendly.

My only down statement is the fact I found a gratuity cost of £6 each day on my bill, I was given a total cost on booking and found £12 extra. For what I have no idea and was never told about it, very dissatisfied with that. But I guess that's what they do.
