Last week we stayed for one night as we had an early flight the following morning.
On entry the hotel was clean and inviting.
We were able to check in a little earlier so that was a bonus, staff were friendly & efficient the room was nicely painted, bathroom was a delight spotless, quality towels & bedding.Everything we needed.
The bed was extremely comfortable and we experienced a good sleep.
Even though we were at the front of the hotel,it was quiet.
The bus stop shelter (with time table) was opposite the hotel approx 20 metres,some steep steps to navigate with large suitcases but no problem for us.
The Derby Skylink bus operates 24/7 to the airport for £2...just brilliant.
We will definitely be using this hotel again.

I would recommend this hotel because of its good service, friendly staff and very clean rooms. It's close to the motorway and the airport, so getting there will be no problem at all. You can eat and drink at the hotel's bar and restaurant, which can be a bit busy and crowded in the evenings, as I experienced when I enjoyed a few nice pints of Guinness there. Since breakfast was included in the price, I tried the classic English breakfast and can say it was pretty good. The only thing that bothered me was the double door with a mirror leading to the neighbouring room, through which I could hear everything that was happening in the other room. I couldn't get a good night's sleep because of my neighbour's snoring.

Smelly reception area. I was surprised that the reception area had a smell like a blocked drain. Maybe a temporary thing that will get sorted. |Reception staff seemed to be less than enthusiastic and wanted us checked in and gone. |The room was fine. Clean and fresh. Only gripe was the bathroom fan didn’t turn off at all all night even though the light was off. |Breakfast was modest but clean and fresh. |Waitress who cleaned the table needs a customer care course. Without a word or eye contact, she jumped between us mid conversation and cleared everything, even the clean cutlery and napkins we had ready to fetch more food. Very rude.

Needing a pre flight bed for the night I chose HIE for its value for money and standard of room. I was not disappointed on this count. Personally I chose to eat my evening meal elsewhere due to the menu choices not being to my taste , but that's a personal choice. Breakfast was adequate, started at 4.00am and was included in the price.|Parking is £10 for guests but you need a code from reception. Do not pay for this until you have checked in. Unfortunately HEI were not good at communicating this. I have taken this up separately but have mentioned it here to save you the hassle of making my mistake.

Currently staying in this hotel and can say staff are really friendly Nathan checked me in and was very approachable. Me and my 2 year old are staying as we due to fly from. East midlands tomorrow. There a services about 5-10 min walk with a wide footpath I took a stroller and people seem happy to let us cross the road it's a little expensive but expect from services .there's bus to the airport every 15 minutes for £1 this save us walking luggage the short distance can't complain about £1 grate location room size is small but comfy comes with hairdryer and iron iron bored and can go over some key items before we flights breakfast starts at 6.30 till 10 and check out at 11 so plenty time to eat and then shower

I travel a fair bit with business....

Located on the edge of Business park with no amenities near by...

Arrive mid evening and got given my room key, only to discover that room was indeed twin single beds. Immediately back down to reception only to be told that they had the right to allocate me anything they deemed suitable. Asking wherever they should have acknowledged this in the confirmation. The response was I was lucky to have a room at all and as compensation I should have a beer and a snack - big deal. I was then asked if I would be eating in the hotels restaurant (as I'm not a big fan of hotel food), I decline and asked if there was anywhere else local to eat. Only Donnington about 10 mins drive away was the response - no real recommendations past this point.

Parking is operated by a 3rd party so expected to pay very highly for an overnight stay and have to pay for it through a separate machine in the hotel.

My night in the room was cold and uncomfortable, the duvet was small and not big enough the wrap around myself. Turning the aircon on for heat resulted in a noisy wave of hot air to be blasted onto the bed I had chosen to sleep in. The room was functional at best.

Breakfast next day as part of the room price was of a low quality combined with a waitress who took away my unfinished meal when went to get fresh cutlery. In short wont be staying here again and will be driving further to avoid.

We have stayed here a handful of times, the last visit on the ground floor was not a good stay next to a staff door which was constantly banging! We had a little moan to Maciej on the desk who was more than helpful and sorry offering us forms of compensation. He went above and beyond for us. We have now returned and what a beautiful time we have had. The young girl on reception was so friendly and helpful too. These 2 members of staff are a credit to the team. We will return again for sure. The breakfast you get included is brilliant and fresh. Nothing was too much and it was a great stay. Our room was clean and as expected. Thank you for a lovely visit.

Helpful and friendly staff. Bedroom was a little cramped and bathroom very basic, but most importantly they were clean and we slept well! Breakfast was, like all buffet breakfasts everywhere, not overly hot, but it was tasty and plentiful. Evening food was a bit hit and miss- not very good the first evening, but a great pizza the second night!|We caught the bus right across the road, which took us directly into the City centre in approx. 20 mins|Over all, for the price, this is an excellent choice for a couple of nights.
