My wife and I loved the size of our room, it was very spacious, as was the bathroom! Complimentary tea and coffee in room always a nice touch.

The only negative we felt was that the corridor and stairways we used did not look as though they had been vacuumed for a while, which we know is below Holiday Inns’ high standard.

That said it wouldn’t put us off staying at this hotel again, as it was very well located close to the ferry port, useful after a long ferry crossing from Santander and the breakfast as usual, a great fill up to start our onward journey home!

We went for a weeks break. |It's a lovely hotel situated in Portsmouth close to the motorway. The room is spacious with a sofa bed for added space. The staff were warm and welcoming I asked for an extra duvet as the duvet in the room is very thin, we also had several issues with both key cards not working; again this was dealt with very quickly. |Only a few issues there isn't a main big light in the room, the light over the sofa bed is warm, the lighting is more for ambiance it's more suitable for workers up early morning. The carpet in the room could do with a shampoo as there was questionable white substance on the carpet. |The hotel and room were lovely we would come again. ||

This has to be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in for quite some time. On walking into the hotel I could smell weed which was very off putting. There was nobody on reception initially and the staff were too busy chatting in the back. The room was OK but I had asked for a double bed and got two singles. The walls were paper thin and I spent all night listening to groups of young men shouting in the corridor or on their phones in their rooms. Even with the TV as loud as I could cope with I could still hear this. This went on into the early hours. The corridors again all smelt of weed. From the conversation I overheard this happens regularly in this hotel. The downstairs area is all open plan so no chance of sitting quietly to eat my evening meal as there were loud groups all around. I am not precious in any way this was just particularly bad.

Lovely hotel to stay in, location ideal for our university visit and the park and ride. Hotel recently been refurbished. Room larger than I expected, good size bathroom and shower. Room cold when we arrived, not a problem though just put the heater on. Had a good nights sleep, bed very comfortable- better than other hotels we’ve stayed in. Enjoyable breakfast, plenty of choice. Overall I’d recommend this hotel to friends and family.

I stayed one night to break a long drive to my son for Christmas on 22 December. Arriving at a ridiculously late 2am I found the front desk guy bright friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and welcoming with a very comfy bed! All finished off with an excellent breakfast next morning. Great value so near Christmas at £54 a night! I would definitely use this hotel again and I highly recommend it!

From arrival through to departure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Front of house and housekeeping Staff at desk, bar and restaurant were both polite and helpful.

Our Room was spacious for our family.

Food was good value.

Our first choice if we are in the area again.

So impressed with the Holiday Inn. We had been to this one several times before. The rooms are always very comfortable and quiet and the staff helpful. This time our bathroom door broke pretty much at midnight on new years eve meaning we couldn't get into the bathroom. So, a pretty difficult time to get anything fixed. However the staff did everything they could to try to fix it and when this wasn't possible, sorted us out another room and gave us tooth brushing equipment to use to see us through until the morning, when they were able to sort it. They also refunded us the cost of the room for the inconvenience. We additionally found the breakfast to have improved as they now offer a greater range of food and the quality of scrambled eggs was better. Thanks so much for looking after us. We will definitely be back!

This hotel is very accessible from motorway links and is a little gem in respect of comfort and service! The staff were extremely helpful, respectful and polite and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were great value and spotlessly clean. With everything provided that you might need, such as television, iron & ironing board, hair dryer and tea & coffee making facilities. The breakfast gave a varied choice of cereal, continental breakfast and fruit options and a hot buffet. There were numerous hot drink options and fruit juices on offer. So every kind of appetite was catered for with no limit on quantity, so small to large eaters would be very satisfied! The quality of the food and beverages available was excellent too. The staff on duty kept everywhere cleared quickly and efficiently and plenty of tables were kept available in all areas. I was super impressed with my stay and would not hesitate to visit again. In fact, as I come to the area quite often, I think this is going to be my “come to” accommodation in future, because I had everything I needed, all on hand and of great quality. I would recommend to others without a doubt and look forward to visiting again soon.
