Exceeded our expectations. Inside it's modern, clean and the rooms are more spacious than we were expecting. The bathrooms are huge and recently refurbished and there's aircon, which isn't always a given.
We stopped off on a long journey, so ate and drank in the bar and again it was excellent. Friendly staff, a good choice of drinks and the food was much better than we were expecting. Definitely on our list of road-trip stopping off points. We'll be back.

Recently stayed for 4 nights after seeing such good reviews online for this hotel and I have to say, the reviews were absolutely right, it is a gem of a hotel. Hidden away in an industrial estate the hotel has been newly refurbished inside but the staff are what really make the hotel. The welcome I received on arrival was one of the best I've ever had at any IHG hotel and that friendliness continued with every interaction throughout the rest of the stay, nothing was too much trouble and it really made me feel welcome. The breakfast was really good too. The room was spacious, especially the bathroom and the air con was good, as was the cleanliness. My only criticism is that the bed was two singles pushed together and there was an obvious gap in the middle and the mattress was incredibly hard but that is personal preference. The water pressure could have been a little stronger but it still did the job. Other than that it was a perfect stay. I'd happily stay again and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room was fabulous loved the bathroom and the very large shower, everything was immaculate. The breakfast was very good, great selection and fresh. The staff from the check in through to breakfast and cleaning were second to none. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Stayed here on Good Friday and I can honestly say it is the best HIE we have ever visited! Welcoming, spotlessly clean abd a credit to the manager Allan. From walking in we were welcomed by everyone that spoke to us and nothing was too much trouble. We were meeting friends who live in Manchester and we were going to watch the rugby at Wigan. They were delayed and my husband and I had travelled nearly 3 hours, so we decided to have something to eat. The food is fantastic! A bit more expensive than our of the hotel but worth every penny, piping hot beautiful homemade food! The breakfast in the morning was very well presented, constantly stocked (by Allan the manager), sides kept clean food first class. Thank you ALL for a fabulous stay in our gorgeous twin room, huge bathroom, comfy bed! We were very very impressed and would definitely recommend, we will use again. A fantastic team effort, including housekeeping, kitchen etc etc. Well done!

As an American traveling in the UK, I found this property absolutely perfect for us. Staff were awesome from beginning to end of our stay, breakfast was great. Our room was very comfortable, very clean and just what we expected. I would definitely stay here again!

I haven’t stayed in a Holiday Inn for quite some time, and to be honest, it wouldn’t normally be my first choice. However, during a recent work trip, I stayed at your Wigan location—and I have to say, I was genuinely surprised. That might even be an understatement.||From the moment I arrived, the hospitality, cleanliness, and overall service were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food, the service, and the quality of the room were all well above my expectations and clearly reflect a significant positive change.||Well done, Holiday Inn Wigan—you’ve really raised the bar.

Friendly staff. The room was all set up as requested with the sofa bed made along with a cot and extra bedding. ||Lovely breakfast buffet with hot food and cereals. ||For the price, couldn’t have been better!

Found out about this Hotel from Dave on YouTube channel "Dave takes it on" and booked right away.
Turned up last night and fund that all the EV charging on site was out of action, WiFi also didn't work in our room (15).
Staff said it's the first time this has happened in the month or so since the chargers were installed and they were waiting for the tech people.
We only had 11% left in the battery and luckily just managed to get to a supercharger this morning, for a quick charge to see us through the day..
Mid afternoon, I received a call from the hotel, informing me that the WiFi had been fixed and the chargers are now working again.
Also for the inconvenience, they offered us a free meal and drink, complements of the hotel.
The meals were lovely and a generous portions.
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff have been friendly and very helpful.
This is a good hotel with a great ev charging offer.
We will be returning when the Blackpool illuminations are on and highly recommend this place to others.
