Excellent food at a birthday party function - some of the best quality food I have ever been served at an event. Staff were efficient and friendly. Room OK, slightly better than the best Premier Inns. Annoying things like bathroom door lock not working though. ||Highly recommend the venue for events. Shout-out to Molly for the friendly and efficient way she facilitated everything. Great staff on the day also - waiting staff and managers. Only one 'jobs worth' on reception and other staff more than made up for her.

If you’re staying here for work, or pleasure, you might be better off booking somewhere else. Arrived at about 5.20pm on a Weds after being at a work meeting to find virtually no parking spaces left in the hotel car park and if you are fortunate to find one be warned…it’s a squeeze. I didn’t think I’d arrived particularly late. ||The overall look, feel, and in some cases (smell) of the hotel leaves a lot to be desired and is tired and badly in need of renovation. When I arrived only one person on the check in desk with a queue of people in front of me. I was stood there for at least 15 mins. Man behind reception pleasant enough. ||Stayed on second floor. Had overnight case, shoulder bag & laptop bag. Even with relatively light luggage I found the confusing directional signage and windy, meandering, corridors, coupled with needing to go up and down internal flights of stairs just to get to my room was awkward and frustrating. ||On the journey to my room wondered along a corridor on floor 2 which smelt as though someone had been sick and it hadn’t been cleaned up. Foul smell and was so pleased when i realised I was staying in a different section. ||My room itself was tired, overly hot, and had a shoddy view overlooking the back of the hotel car park and collection of laundry bins. The back of the hotel also has an entrance/exit used by hotel staff. Consequently when I had my window open to get some fresh air, anyone going outside the hotel for a cigarette break during their shift stood beneath my window and meant their cigarette smoke wafted straight up into my room. ||Bed in the room was lumpy, made up with scratchy, cheap, bed linen and some interesting looking stains on the bedroom carpet. ||About the only good thing was my room service meal. I was tired and decided to eat in my room. The chicken burger and peri salted fries were tasty. ||Overall a real disappointment and wish I’d properly researched the quality of this hotel before I decided to book for a business trip. Don’t waste your money and won’t be coming back.

I travel a lot for business and this Holiday Inn was probably one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in recently especially considering how expensive it is to stay here. Definitely do not expect a 4 star hotel.

Rooms are extremely basic, soulless and dated. The AC in the room didn’t work and someone had left a heater on in my room so it was initially sweltering. There are no plug sockets next to bed, only two USB-A sockets. I only had a USB-C and a UK mains adapter so I had to charge my phone across the room in the only plug sockets in the entire room? The TV is unwatchable as it is absolutely tiny (~20”) and very far away from the bed. It was nice to have an iron and ironing board in the room, but unfortunately it was a very cheap iron and it kept leaking water onto my shirts.

The bathroom was actually very clean and had possibly been newly refurbished, but the shower tray was a bit grim and discoloured. I find it contradictory that it says in the bathroom “to help care for our planet and reduce waste…” yet they supply disposable plastic cups wrapped in plastic to drink from as opposed to glasses? Which makes me think it is disingenuous and purely a cost saving measure.

My room (107) was above the cafe/bar so I could hear people chatting until late. One evening a guest was shouting over the football which kept me awake for a while. The windows were not very sound insulated so noise from the road outside was quite loud. As you can imagine I didn’t sleep very well although the bed itself was quite comfortable.

The car park is not suited to the number of rooms in this hotel, it was completely full up almost every day so had to pay £7 a day to park in another public car park nearby that fortunately had spaces.

Breakfast was nice with a pleasant buffet of hot and cold food, pancakes, fruit, pastries etc. The apple juice tastes awful though, I assume it is made from concentrate and the proportions were messed up as it tasted like pure concentrate.

I would avoid the restaurant and go to one of the many nice pubs or restaurants in Kenilworth.

For £146 per night (including breakfast), even as a club member, I expected a much better experience and considering the lack of amenities I probably won’t be staying in another Holiday Inn again. For reference, only a couple months ago I stayed in a Hilton in the centre of Cambridge with breakfast, gym, pool etc for considerably less.

Stayed here before (I've already written about the tricky car park entrances).||This time we had quite a large twin room towards the back, which was cool for a hot day but had noise from the bins early morning. However, I liked the modern touches - the USB power points near the bed were nice.||I'd advise foraging out elsewhere for eating and drinking; there's plenty of places nearby.||Good sleep, comfortable stay away. Will return.

Overall a good hotel, dogs friendly. Room was clean and adequate. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was standard, nice in general. However, dropping a star because reception staff was not around for some time (guests were waiting unnecessarily) & there was a problem with coffee, not only machines didn't work in the restaurant but also in the lobby. An alternative solution was offered but it took some time. Apart of that, we had a lovely stay.

Upon arrival, because we were Ihg Ward members they treated us really well in the office they gave.

The room was really nice and quiet and comfortable.

We had live (open mic) music in the evening and enjoyed some of it (a few songs were murdered though).

Big shout out to Callum, he was really good.

I was really impressed with the quality of the food.

I will definitely come back again.

Everything here was fine until I tried to have a shower in the morning and couldn't get any hot water out of it, despite there being hot water from the tap in the basin.

Reported to reception when I checked out and got no apology, just a suggestion that I didn't know how to work the shower because "neither of the adjoining rooms had reported a problem". I think after years of 70+ nights in IHG hotels, I can probably just about work a shower... Not impressed.

The hotel car parking was poor we paid the fee for the 24 hours and then after visiting friend in the town had no where to park on our return.
The room was cold when first entering and the Aircon took all night to even partly warm the room.
The bathroom was very cold all the time. The extractor fan didn't work. Toilet roll holder broken.
The corridor from main build the the side where we were staying was very cold.
The chairs in the bar were badly stained.
Breakfast was very good and the wait on staff friendly.
When asked at the reception desk for a magnifying mirror there was none available or present in the room.
We stay one night at the hotel for a family funeral in the area.
Glad we were only there one night. Very disappointed for the price of the room.
