I travel for work and this was my first time here. It's wonderful: all the staff are *AMAZING* - in full capitals - and they are what makes this place. Particularly as a woman travelling, hotels can be pretty faceless places - not here. All the staff, even passing the staff maintaining the rooms in the corridor, are *wonderful*. In the restaurant they are all so attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Some top flight hotels would wish they had staff with this enthusiasm and attention to detail. What's so amazing is it's not just single individuals who are incredible, it's also how they all work together so passionately as a team. You are a *lucky* company to have such individuals working for you.

The hotel itself is nice, and has a gym and swimming pool (which puts it above Premier Inns where I normally stay). The Restaurant and bar area are lovely, and the food is excellent on the menu (the brie and beetroot tart with kale pastry is fantastic). But some of the rooms are just looking a bit tired/in need of refurbishment. Holiday Inn needs to invest in the rooms/infrastructure to bring that up to the levels of the amazing staff they have there. If they did this they could blow any other Hotel in the area out of the water! Your staff are absolutely *amazing*; please invest in your infrastructure so you do them all justice.

I stayed here so I could visit my family in Kent before Christmas and paid for it using points. Really impressed with the hotel overall, got a premium room and loved the coffee maker and snacks. Comfortable bed. The only issue with the room was the water pressure which seemed quite low, but that was minor as the rest of the room was great. Popped to the restaurant upon arrival, it was pretty late but they found a table and the food was delicious. The gentleman who served us was really helpful and did an amazing job giving excellent service. Breakfast service was very good and the bar area was also comfortable and inviting. The only complaint about the hotel would be the decor along the corridors where some doors need another coat of paint, especially the plant room doors, other than that, fantastic stay.

Our arrival and check in was very easy and straightforward. There was plenty of parking.
The room was clean and spacious.
Dinner was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Our waitresses looked after us both at the table and later, in the bar when more of our family joined us.
Breakfast was the best we have recently experienced. Good quality bacon and sausages- according to my husband!!
We didn't get chance to use the leisure facilities but they looked good.

Wow 10/10 hotel, from the friendly kind staff such as lisa and Sophie (and many more) to the comfy room, to the lovely pool we cannot fault our stay. ||Room - the room is cozy, warm with a lovely mattress and pillow. The attention to detail is amazing, the hairdryers are great, shower pressure is perfect and lovely coffees. The staff went above and beyond and decorated the room for my partners birthday, it was amazing ||Food- the dinner was fantastic with lovely lisa being our server, we feel full from that delightful set menu ||Facilities - fantastic pool and sauna, there is also a gym you can use! It was heated and a good size, the sauna was fantastic ||Staff- they will go above and beyond for you and support you in anyway they can from bringing ice to the room, to just a lovely chat ||We are here now and again I can’t fault our stay, fantastic, made my partners birthday a special one🩷

Had a lovely relaxing 2 night stay in premium room, had a complaint about breakfast which was dealt with and would like to mention Pryia the hotel manager who rightly appreciated positive and negative feedback as a manager, she went above and beyond to resolve our complaint and was happy with the outcome. A negative would be the price of the restaurant, almost £20 for pie and mash and price of bar drinks which is a shame as would be nice to relax and not leave the hotel to enjoy and afford drinks in the afternoon and a meal. On our arrival we had lunch in the hotel and a glass of prosecco each as we were away for a treat and to relax, friendly bar staff and quiet and relaxing restaurant this was nice but £37 for 3 small sharing tapas between us and a drink each we felt was again to steep. Would like to visit again as some positives included relaxing quiet stay, lovely jacuzzi and close to amenities would stay again in premium rooms which are spacious and included soft drinks in fridge and biscuits ,except the dressing gowns were not soft and had to ask for more items on tea tray as quite stingy. Would like to see if the breakfast in bed service would be a positive on our second visit to as this was not on previous trip but as mentioned Pryia dealt with this excellent but would like to give the hotel a chance to make this a positive outcome next time.

My experience was great, from checking in to checking out. Sophie checked me and my family in also upgraded our room, also served us at dinner. Sophie was caring and professional the whole way through. Dinner was nice came out quickly. Would defo recommend The Holiday Inn

Four-night break on our way to see family accompanied by our dog. Room was good, Wi-Fi excellent and all staff really helpful. We had to eat in the bar area having our dog but were constantly asked if he needed a bowl of water. The bar had plenty of choice, breakfast excellent. The one downside was that my morning tea down there was not pleasant as the hot water must be set around 85C too cool to make good tea. Beyond that we’ll be back.

As a Platinum Elite customer, I was given a gift certificate by another hotel which was to be redeemed by the end of January 2025, I was advised at any IHG hotel. I chose Rochester and the customer service experience was far from satisfactory.

Prior to my stay, I called and confirmed that I was using a gift voucher and a reservation was made.

On arrival a Manager was called to see the voucher was ok to use. From the onset, he expressed doubt by not only saying that their hotel did not cover such certificates as some franchises don't, but that I was quizzed a number of times who gave it to me, at the Reception desk for a long time. Furthermore it was the way the gift certificate was examined several times for authenticity/other after I had given the name of the hotel which issued it. an embarrassing length of time was spent at the Reception with the said Manager until he decided to check with the hotel in question. By then the reservation was cancelled and I called for an Uber to return home, nursing a backache. It then transpired that the issuing hotel offered to cover my stay while they sorted out the voucher/payment internally. I couldnt cancel the Uber which had arrived by then and accepted the new reservation. It was unfortunate that the bedroom (9) had tissue paper on the floor, creased towels which were changed immediately and a rusty dustbin. Being asked to pay once seated for breakfast didn't help the feeling of mistrust of a customer by the hotel.
