Myself and my partner stayed here a few years ago, while we were having our flat repaired, during Christmas time. The staff here were fantastic with us both, the best service I have ever had at any establishment.

They even went above and beyond while my partner was stuck in our room with COVID, the staff ensured that she had food delivered up to our room every morning.

Couldn't recommend any other hotel to stay at, definitely worth a 5 star review!

I stayed at this hotel for one night.

The room was adequate but that is all I can say. Very tired furnishings, broken leather on the desk chair, which was uncomfortable to sit on. Stains on the carpets, which is very off putting.

Bed was comfy but the bedding smelled really strongly of food. I though initially I could smell the food cooking in the kitchens, but I realised when I woke in the night that it was coming from the bedding.

For a hotel charging the prices that they do, I would expect far better standards than this. Wouldn't stay there again.

I would rate this hotel as at the more basic end of Holiday Inn experiences. The staff were all pleasant and service from the breakfast staff was good. Unfortunately, when I checked in at 5pm the room window was open and the room was very cold. Even with the aircon going full blast I was still sitting in my coat 5 hours later. I'm afraid this was a major negative. Breakfast was basic but adequate. The hotel overlooks a racecourse and is in a quiet area which is a bonus. Overall, I'd have to say the stay was not good value given the cost was higher than the Crowne Plaza's I stayed in the night before and after. On a warmer day, with the window closed and with a better deal, I may feel differently!

I recently stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The Staff at reception were very welcoming and accommodating, especially the female receptionist, who lives in "London".. you know who you are. I would like to thank you for your kindness and understanding.

My room was clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. I wasn't disturbed by noise from other guests, and slept extremely well.

The conference room, where I attended a Wake, was beautifully decorated, spacious and suitable for such an event.

My only criticisms are that the drinks were very expensive and it was a cashless bar, so if you didn't have a debit / credit card, you couldn't purchase drinks. This may be suitable for younger people, but many elderly people use cash for purchases.

I also became aware that all who attended the Wake...who were not Hotel guests, were searched on entry. This I found completely deplorable and demeaning. I find it difficult to believe that this is standard policy and procedure, as I have attended various Wakes held in Hotels, where such intrusive and degrading behaviour was not implemented.

Initially it was a very positive experience, which was marred by overzealous Security Officers, searching Ladies bags....and providing no explanation for their presence.

I stayed here for 4 nights for a course locally. Room was lovely, spacious and clean. The best bit of the stay was the staff. They are all so lovely, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. They would spend time chatting to you and make you feel comfortable. I would choose to stay here again, even if it was slightly further away than somewhere else. Staff are a credit to your company.

The racecourse hotel is very easy to find, well signposted. Safe parking as it is inside the racecourse barrier controlled area. Very quiet for sleeping. About a 40 minute walk into the town centre, but also a quick taxi-ride away.

Friendly staff - especially house-keeping and the restaurant ladies at breakfast. You will not be allowed to leave without plenty to eat and a smile!

We had a wonderful stay. The staff are what makes this place amazing. From reception to bar staff to kitchen staff. They were all a delight and so friendly. Nothing was too much for them. There were games provided in the bar area for the children. We would definitely stay again. Rooms are a little small for a family but would definitely come back again.
