This hotel was really very nice. The location is great. It was nice and clean and we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was very good. The staff were helpful and friendly. Yes, parts of the decor were a little dated but that’s to be expected in an older property. It has some beautiful period features. We had a family room which was enormous! The bathroom was a good size too. I would definitely recommend this hotel! I understand this hotel changed hands from Marriott to Britannia approximately six years ago and since then the new owners have invested in it! Give it a go! We were delighted with it. It was far better than we were expecting.

Absolutely excellent experience staying here on business. From the moment I checked in staff were friendly and professional and the hotel is in beautiful surroundings and I had a lovely room with a great view! Great food too at dinner and breakfast where I ate overlooking the grounds just beautiful. I treated myself to a facial too in the Spa and the staff were so welcoming and accommodating me at late notice for a treatment. Lovely comfortable bedroom too. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

Came for 2 nights for a function and was very impressed. Lovely grounds, great spa / swimming facilities etc but what really makes this place special is the staff. Everyone we met throughout the weekend was lovely but special mention to Cassie, Ben, Leana, Charlie and Zee Zee who looked after the function in the evening. They were professional but friendly and really made everyone feel welcome. They couldn’t do enough for us despite being busy with other functions inth3 hotel. It is this kind of service that stands out and makes us want to come back.

This hotel had the wow factor for us as we approached along the driveway.|Very hilly, which added to the beauty.|Beautifully maintained gardens and frontage, which added to our expectations and relief, after seeing negative reviews here.|Grand entrance and reception staff quickly booked us in.|We were in room 0107. A Lexx executive double. We entered 107, it was nice and clean, airy and fresh and spacious, with a nice big bed, a two seater settee a coffee table, an espresso machine, with four pods and nice cups and saucers. Very pleasant decor and lighting. A coffee table and a desk and also, to our surprise, a fridge. The usual coffee and tea facilities, clean and tidily laid out. Also an ice bucket with wine and hiball glasses. Robes in the wardrobe. |En-suite was a shower over bath. Toiletries were plentiful as was loo roll and tissues. The best flush on a loo I have ever known, also the shower was forceful. Very pleasing.|There was a desk chair, so when our friends came into our room, there was enough seating for all.|The view out of the window was great for us.|Some trees had been pruned, and the fellings left to create a wildlife space. We were pleased to see healthy rabbits and a squirrel or two that looked more red than grey.|The voile curtains were immaculately white and the heavy, quality curtains, topped off with a matching pelmet that were so well blackout that we slept in on night one. The windows were secured with heavy duty wire stoppers,so could not be entered by wrong uns.|We could not fault the cleanliness of room 107.|The bed was very clean with an incredibly comfy mattress and quality mattress topper. The pillows, although did not have pillow protectors, were like new. The most fussy of our party passed the pillows as excellent.|There were no stains on the carpet, which was nice and clean.|We enjoyed to pool facilities. The changing rooms are clean and tidy, although we went down in our robes from our room.|The only *sigh* was that the pool had been roped off into three.|There was a single lane for lessons, which we could use when no lessons were taking place, then there is a big third used for members who like to do lengths, then a smaller third for us who like to just lounge around in the pool.|The hot tub is the largest that we have been in, in our new found enjoyment of retirement life. It was powerful, clean, large and easy to enter and exit.|It does get busy at times with children ?, but I suppose you have to know the children timetables. ?|The walker three enjoyed a walk around the golf course, and saw the viaduct in all its magnificence.|Breakfast is very good. The brekkie staff swish about topping up and there is very good choice, all beautifully presented.|Two of or party wanted grapefruit but there was none, but there was sliced melon, watermelon and pineapple.|I liked the tinned tomatoes, they made a nice change from grilled half toms.|We had a meal in the grill on the hill, and we all enjoyed it. Service was pleasant, staff enthusiastic, always good.|There is a ‘hydration station’ near reception, a prettily laid out area containing Kilner jars with a tap on that is constantly topped up with ice, that melts to give you a free ice cold drink, which is a nice touch.|The lounge area is full of grouped leather chesterfields, which was great. Views out of the windows fabulous.|We had a small issue, which Darren quickly attended to without fuss.|All in all, a wonderful two night stay. All the staff are friendly and seem to be happy in their roles.|I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. It has definitely earned the four stars it has.|And would we return?|Absolutely. And soon, I hope.

Fabulous place. We really loved the whole experience . Breakfast was nice. Restaurant had halal options as well.
Spa was really well equipped, swimming and gym options. An extremely vast open area for walk and running. 100/10

Lovely spa day with hubby. Highly recommend the full body massage. Great facilities. Clean changing rooms.
We enjoyed an afternoon tea which was delicious and very filling. Couldn’t finish everything but got to take the rest home.

Not good.
I stayed for the weekend and Friday evening the hot water in the bath did not work so I was moved to another room but could not have a bath so I had a shower. It took about three hours before I finally had a shower.
The room was cold, so I had portable heating delivered to my room.
They did not refill toilet rolls.
The bed was nice and comfortable, though.
