I had booked 3 room in the guest house. The heating system of my room was not working which caused my partner to get sick and rather than having a relaxing night it turned into disaster as the cold got us. I called the service number 3 times to inform them about this matter and they said it will be fixed but never fixed it. One of the room (room 7) was a kitchen and a bed was placed in that room and was being used for the guests. I will upload the picture of that room. Worst night and most unpleasant experience ever out of all the guest houses i have stayed in.

The place seemed alright in the pictures but it was nothing like that. When we arrived there was nobody to check us in. We had to wait pitside for a bit. Then, someone who didn't speak English gave us a key to a room and that was it. When getting into the room we realised it wasn't properly cleaned. There was stuff from the previous people who stayed there (an open juice in the fridge, lip balm in the toilet and stained tissues), the towels weren't clean, the bathroom had stains all over the mirror and the shower door as well, as hairs everywhere, the bathroom mat was disgusting and seemed like hasn't ever been washed, dirt under the bed, and so on.
Never coming again, wouldn't recommend it at all.

Hollybush Guest House is safe, clean and on an easy bus route to the city center and Oxford Parkway. Some of the fittings are passed their prime but it is the most affordable option l have found in this much sort after location.The room cleaning is daily. Tea, biscuits and coffee are topped up daily. The wifi is reliable. Abdul on reception has been welcoming and super helpful. Its a guesthouse so expect other customers in the building. I have not been disturbed once and l feel safe.

The room was good for the price we paid. There was an incident of a drunk man (another guest) banging on the door all night where the police were called. Our room was right next to the main door.
Unfortunately, we selected the option for a quiet room and still got a room right next to the main door due to people coming through in the night while talking loudly.

It was a lovely clean room with everything I needed. Except no staff...I saw one once in 4 days. The shower was unbearably hot...scolding in fact. The large fan in my room was a godsend however

Staff extremely unprofessional, they would have hours long phone call on speaker in their own language, until very late at night. Many times I had staff not knocking on the door instead forcing it open. I was told I am not allowed to use the shower/sink too much because it's an old house. Definitely not felt safe while I was there at all. Miles away from the city centre, very remote area, half hour walk from a corner store.

I had a weekend here in the 2 bedroom appartment. It was clean and well maintained and location wise perfect to get in and out of Oxford City centre with the bus stop almost outside. There are a few shops a lovely Artisan cafe and Joe's bar and grill just a short walk down the road which was very handy . The kitchenette had everything we needed and I was surprised we even had a washing machine. It was spacious enough with a good shower comfy clean beds and good value for money. Would definatley use as a base to explore Oxford again.
