Hornbeams Bed & Breakfast - Canterbury

Our daughter booked Hornbeams for us for a stay in April as we were visiting Canterbury. We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. We booked the double room which is well furnished and comfortable. This room overlooks the well tended garden and has a beautiful view over fields and Kent countryside. The setting is peaceful and located in a very pretty area in a rural location yet with easy access by road to Canterbury and Dover. Outside there was a lovely patio where breakfast can be taken in the summer. Alison is an excellent host and made us feel welcome from the start, nothing was too much trouble for her and we really appreciated the attention to the details regarding accessibility which made our stay relaxing and enjoyable.

We spent last night at this bnb in the beautiful Kent countryside and have already booked our next stay here, next month! The room was extremely comfortable and nicely appointed, the location of the cottage is absolutely stunning, including gorgeous, immaculately kept gardens, and our host, Alison, was warm, kind and welcoming. A superb al fresco breakfast this morning, overlooking a rich array of flower beds and rolling hills made it a perfect stay.

We stayed at Hornbeams for three nights with our two children and felt right at home.

Alison, the host, is friendly and helpful. She has two dogs which are well-behaved. We felt comfortable having them around us and our children.

The bedrooms are located in the house which is very well kept.

For breakfast there's the option of having a cooked, English breakfast Cereals, fruit, bread and toast are also offered.

A wonderful B&B in the middle of rolling countryside overlooking an idyllic valley. This is very convenient for both the Channel Tunnel and the ferry ports and a good stopping off point before your trip to France. Alison is a lovely hostess and provides an excellent breakfast and lots of information about the locality. You will be very well looked after.

This is a wonderful B&B on the countryside. I have stayed here many times and always come back. Alison makes a great full English breakfast that I can highly recommend. Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful and quiet. Highly recommended!

If your idea of heaven is to wake up to peace and tranquillity and unspoilt views of the Kentish countryside then Hornbeams is the place for you. Alison is extremely welcoming to her lovely home and the breakfasts are tailor made to your requirements and use local produce and when the weather permits can be taken on the sunny patio overlooking the magnificent views. Ideally situated for visits to Canterbury or en route to Dover and beyond. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a single night stop here but will return. Soon after arriving we were enjoying a cup of tea and biscuits in the garden with Alison the owner and her two lovely dogs.||||Hornbeams is a modern bungalow set in a lovely garden. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with an ensuite attached.||||The following morning we had an excellent cooked breakfast.||||In short a relaxing and comfortable place to stay.

My sister and I spent an idyllic week staying with Alison in what felt like a home from home. Breakfast was on the terrace nearly every day, with a lovely view over the garden and meadow beyond. Hornbeams is an excellent centre from which to go hunting for rare orchids and butterflies on the beautiful downs and in ancient woods. We are looking for excuses to go back!
