If you’re looking for a nursing home experience, this might be the place for you (just be prepared for a fire alarm that goes off constantly).

1. We specifically booked a room with a terrace but were given one with a balcony and smashed glass. We emailed the hotel in advance to stress how important the terrace was to us, but they never even bothered to reply.

2. Breakfast was also a disappointment - limited choices in a cold restaurant, and you don’t even get to decide when to eat - they assign you a time at check-in.

3. They charge £25 per night for bringing a dog, which was never mentioned anywhere beforehand.

Raised some of these issues with the staff, but they didn’t care.

Amazing setting with lively gardens and a walk to the secluded beach. The staff are amazing friendly but not intrusive. They made us feel like we mattered and were beyond helpful.|Hotel is clean, cosy and well appointed. |We were there for our 40th wedding anniversary and they were fabulous. Great food. Great afternoon tea and cracking breakfast. Highly recommended!

I was a little unsure what to expect of this hotel after reading such widely disparate reviews. Firstly, the welcome was lovely. Very helpful and very friendly. The room, (no. 44) was a sea glimpse view room and was very warm (a tad too warm for me but easily overcome by opening the balcony door) and had all you needed for your stay. The bed was very comfortable and it was very clean. The decor, as I read elsewhere, is retro and I liked it as I did throughout the whole hotel. We had our dog with us and a doggy bed, a towel, bowels, poo bags and treats were all brought to our room for her and this is a lovely touch. Because we had our dog with us, we were unable to eat in the main restaurant, instead eating in the lounge. I liked it a lot and the food was very, very nice. The service is a little slow but I honestly don't mind that as I totally understand that recruitment in areas like this is very hard and I would imagine retaining staff tricky and also the staff all seem very young and obviously, have to learn and are probably only there for pocket money. But they were ALL lovely. There are some issues with the hotel and I have sent a separate message to the hotel to discuss this as I do feel some of these issues should be dealt with. Overall though, I think this is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location with staff who do their very best.

We (2 couples) have just spent Christmas 2024 at Hotel Meudon. We booked their 3 night Christmas package: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day.||Lovely welcome, with mulled wine and mince pies, perfect room overlooking the garden, walk-in shower, toiletries. The food, from the first evening to the final breakfast was plentiful, tasty, freshly cooked. Christmas lunch was 6 courses!||Staff are sooooo...genuinely friendly and kind. Which in turn made all the guests friendly and chatty, lots of interaction and laughter. Chris, the Maintenance man, provided a quiz on Christmas Day evening & bingo on Boxing Day evening for anyone who wanted to join in. There were old films showing in the tv room during the day time. Lots of separate areas to sit quietly and read if that's your preference.||The garden is outstanding even in winter, with a fairly steep path leading to Bream Cove, where the Boxing Day swim took place. The garden path also gives access to the coast path.

The Meudon is one of the most welcoming and relaxed hotels to stay at - the staff are so friendly and helpful, the service is excellent.|The setting is fabulous and the walk down to Bream Cove through the hotel gardens is a delight and leads onto the south west coast path.|Our dinner, breakfast and cocktails were delicious. Recommend one of the rooms overlooking the garden for the balcony and the view - we stayed in 25.|We're locals and stayed for an autumn treat but also pop in for their Cornish cream tea every once in a while and the scones are fantastic.

I have just arrived back from a weekend staying at the Hotel Meudon with my husband and our dog. The arrival welcome was warm and lovely and the room was perfectly set up for a comfortable night with a bed, everything we needed and a bed, towel and bowl for the dog…. Just perfect for us. We arrived after dark but when we woke my goodness the view from our room was beautiful…. Straight out to the sub tropical garden. We woke early and walked down through the gardens to the private beach which was a picture from a film…. Beautiful.

We were disappointed. For "vintage" read "run down". The cottage needs a thorough clean, especially in the bathroom - black grouting is not a good look in the shower cubicle or around the toilet. There were only 2 dessert spoons and 3 glasses in a cottage for 4. The steps leading down to the entrance are extremely hazardous at nighttime and we had to ask for bushes to be cut back so we could access the front door. Restaurant service was very slow (not all the tables were taken).

Our 6th time at this fantastic hotel.Staff are first class friendly, polite, and professional. The food is to die for the fish dishes are unbelievable all served in a beautiful setting overlooking private gardens.A walk through the gardens brings you to a picturesque beach with a fantastic beach bar serving hot and cold drinks .This hotel is a hidden gem, great location only 4 miles from Falmouth National trust gardens within a mile.We will be back this is our go to place for peace and relaxation
