This is not a star hotel. It was however friendly very clean, and homely comfortable. There are no frills, and the food is basic. However, it was perfectly edible and well presented. All in this was a cheap hotel, and for what we paid, great value for money. We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel out of choice and will use them again if we get the opportunity.

Visited on business with touring theatre company, Oddsocks. Super friendly and helpful staff. Huge thank you to Jill who went above and beyond to assist us with providing us a space to rehearse in and was so kind. Clean and tidy rooms. Budget hotel but great!

We stayed here for 2 nights and while initial thoughts were good on this hotel they have changed significantly. Receptionist when we checked in was warm and friendly and we paid for continental breakfast for us both on both mornings in advance. My partner had some cereal and toast with some fried eggs, I had cereal and some toast. We attempted to have a meal in the restaurant around 6.45pm yesterday evening (Thursday)but despite waiting for someone to come out all we heard was what sounded like the bing from a microwave oven in the back so we decided to eat elsewhere. Fast forward to this morning at 8.45am (breakfast served from 7-9am) my partner attempted to have exactly what she had yesterday for breakfast but was told by a different Receptionist that the fried eggs are only included in full English breakfast, also we were told that the frier was turned off and wasn't going to be put back on even though it was only 8.45am We paid for both breakfasts in advance and would expect to at the very least get what we had paid for. I get that this is what you would call budget accommodation but even in other similar establishments we have stayed in putting on a couple of fried eggs for a guest would not have been an issue. Everything we asked for was a no, a lot more training on customer service is required in this establishment. Location is central to town. Room was only just ok even though it's basic, it needs modernising. Bed was comfortable but cobwebs on ceiling suggests not adequately deep cleaned. Needless to say we will not be back to stay.

A basic but convenient place to stay not far from Wakefield and the motorway. Free parking for guests and clean comfy beds make this a budget friendly place for work trips. Good for the price.

Booked in to here to break up our journey.|Thankfully it was only for one night.|To be honest I came so close to sleeping in the car.|Pure filth and cobwebs. And I mean cobwebs that have clearly been there for a long time.|Can only put it down to lazy cleaning and unchecked cleaning.|I know the place offers cheap rooms but you still want it to be clean. |I only booked this place because it had an onsight restaurant and bar but unfortunately the restaurant was closed. Maybe just as well because the breakfast was Β£10.95 for a pre ordered breakfast or Β£13.50 if ordered on the day. Why. Why would you pay that when you can cross the road to the Toby carvery and get an all you can eat breakfast for just Β£7.99 which is what we did. |We did go into the bar for a drink on the evening and talk about miserable service. The lassy serving us had a face like a smacked backside. And when I tried to pay by cash you would have thought I was trying to rob her. What a reaction. A bit OTT me thinks so we had to pay by card. No signs anywhere saying card payments only. What would she have done if neither of us had a card to pay with. Ridiculous. |Anyway we made our way back to our hell hole for the night and slept with one eye open. |Morning couldn't come soon enough and when we were getting in the car we noticed it was covered in some kind of sticky stuff. The car was covered. No idea what it was but could only have come from one of the units on the industrial estate where the hotel is situated. So we then had to locate a car wash to get it off before it caused any damage to the paint. |Well another one to avoid in the future. |

Stayed overnight with continental breakfast. This may not be the 'poshest' hotel in Wakefield, but the room was spotless, had the most comfortable bed ever. There is a lovely comfortable reception/dining area, we had a lovely breakfast with freshly baked croissants as part of the continental fayre, and the staff we met - Sarah and Dorothy were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend
