An amazing place to stay for our four day relaxing break. Liz, the host, was lovely and just couldn’t do enough for us! We had a cooked breakfast every morning which was done to perfection and a great way to set us up for the day ahead. On our arrival the warm scones and tea were a lovely touch and home baked. Our room was very comfortable and clean and a good size. We would highly recommend as a base for travellers wanting to explore the rich heritage within the local area.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Hotspur House. Liz is a fantastic host, nothing was too much trouble. Room was lovely, bed very comfy and breakfast was amazing. Really enjoyed the warm scones in the sitting room on arrival. Allendale Town itself isn't very big, but okay of you don't mind a drive as there are only 2 pubs. One serves only Sunday lunch and the other fish or scampi and chips. There's a couple of good tea rooms and a gallery selling locally made items. Oh and a really good sci-fi museum!

Hotspur House is full of character! Liz offered us homemade scones, biscuits and drinks when we arrived. What a welcome. We had a very comfortable bedroom, (Garden Room) lovely clean ensuite, delicious breakfasts. Liz was very helpful, gave us information we needed, tips about where to eat out, and made us feel comfortable. Hospitality tray was perfect. Ingenious flask of milk that keeps cool. We felt very looked after. We would definitely return when we have the chance.

We were warmly welcomed by Liz on arriva with tea and scones. After a long journey, i was a kind and welcome gesture. Our roon was large and spotlessly clean. The bed w comfortable and there was a variety of tea a tray, together with coffee, hot chocolate, water and some lovely homemade biscuits The bathroom was sparkly clean with toiletnco and fresh white towels. Liz was very knowledgeable about places to visit around and about and also places to eat. Breakfast was perfect, plenty of choice and totally delicious. Parking is right outside the house or across the road in the village square. Hotspur House is a lovely house and home, perfectly situated for exploring the more central parts of Northumberland.|There is nothing not to like. This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in many.

A fabulous stay in a wonderful bed and breakfast. Our room was comfortable and extremely well equipped and we enjoyed looking at all the interesting art and curios, both in our room and the dining and sitting room. ||Liz was the perfect hostess with recommendations for meals and coffee and cakes. We loved our breakfast and the scones, jam and homemade biscuits. ||We hope to return again to see this beautiful area at a different time of year and maybe take George for a walk!

Gorgeous B&B with amazing food and so many beautiful little touches that made it a true home from home. Liz our host could not have been anymore helpful or accommodating. We’re disappointed she is having to close for repairs as we would have liked to book in January for birthdays.

Spent two nights here. Newly refurbished and dressed to high professional standard. Food, service, presentation and reception, all exceptionally good standard. Personal service by proprietor, with good local knowledge. Village centre location, local shops and pubs 100 yards. Car parks 100 yards. Also parking to immediate front. Very little to no traffic noise. Top quality King bed, beautiful rooms, immaculately clean.
Priced around 20% below market value
Excellent all round and excellent value for money.
Highly recommended.
