Absolutely AWFUL experience, DON’T BOOK IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 9pm!!! I booked via booking, called the hotel to explain I was arriving late due to cancellation of trains from the city I came from. They told me it was fine but it would be a different staff on call, and they would charge an extra £20, there will be a number on the property. I arrived. They left me outside stranded, no one answered the phone or messages or emails. See photos below.

I had a wonderful four-night stay at the Hudson Hotel. The room was spacious and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, including an en suite bathroom, a hairdryer, and a TV. It was nice to have daily refreshed water bottles, along with plenty of tea and coffee. The host, Sandra, was incredibly kind and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place!

Dirtiest and noisiest place I have ever stayed in. Rooms are small, covered in dust and debris, and rubbish left from previous guests. Only the bed linen were freshly changed. The bathroom doors don't close, and the shower has loads of rust, black mold and is just not clean. Windows are bolted shut, however they remain open and there is no way to close nor open them manually. We tried to talk to the woman in reception, and said after 7-8 years working there these issues have never been brought up. She went on about how much money they spent on refurbishing the place. We inquired about the room we booked, she confirmed pictures in Booking.com are several years old, and they don't have any intention to change them. She then had a phone call with someone speaking loudly from reception about the fact we came to complain, and saying she priced rooms low so that "guests don't have high expectations". We are never coming back to this attempt of a guesthouse, and I would strongly recommend anyone to stay far from them too.

This is me writing a genuine review,

Upon booking this hotel myself and my partner had intentions of booking somewhere cheap and so with that in mind we didn't exactly expect 5 star quality with golden lined curtains etc....

Hudson's hotel exceeded our expectations and not in a good way,

I will start with the positive,

Hudson's is located very conviently to the town centre and is a short walk from the beach,

The price is cheap 4 nights 5 days for £190,

The staff member at the front desk offered to help with my bags upstairs,

This unfortunately is where it ends,

Upon arrival the room was smaller than expected (albeit I somewhat expected this) however the pictures clearly do try and decieve the viewer and intentionally lead you to believe something else,

The decor is very old, honestly depressing and somewhat creepy, further the bathroom door had missing handles and locks, the wardrobe was missing a handle both drawers were damaged in some form,

The curtains are VERY creased which seems to be a common theme from reading other reviews,

Elsewhere there was a general lack of uncleanliness and a unpleasant feeling of dirtiness in the room,

However what really has pushed me to write a long review like this was the wardrobe, the bottom draw was caked in what I think was MOULD, continuing on the hangers were sticky and I genuinely had to clean these myself to put my shirts on them,

Furthermore I used the kettle and to my shock I thought there was more mould however my partner has stated this was incredibly thick limescale,

To sum up, Hudson's hotel is clearly very cheap for a reason however I believe if you are looking to save a few extra pennies don't look here as it will heavily impact your trip, it's worth an extra hundred or two hundred just to avoid this place,

Really good little guesthouse, the lady was very helpful and very polite. Parking I suggest bingo and paying as there’s none of the road, only downfall. Location is good, about 10 mins to pier. Really clean and tidy room, the only issue was the noise from the person upstairs however that’s not Hudsons fault. Good stay and would definitely return especially for the cost!

Economy guesthouse with a very friendly welcome. My room had everything I needed at a great price through google maps. Don’t expect luxury, but you will get a good sleep.

Absolutely AWFUL EXPERIENCE! DO NOT BOOK HERE IF YOU ARRIVE AFTER 9pm!! They left me outside stranded (see photos) after agreeing they’d have someone there to check me in, I travelled from London, called ahead to let them know about train cancellations, they then said they’d charge me extra which I agreed too, then messaged me to say they’re going sleep. Very unprofessional, terrible attitude. Do not risk your money! See photos below!

Booked this guest house for the Brighton Marathon weekend. Lovely place, good value for money and the lady running it was amazing. So helpful and couldn’t do enough for us.
