Really nice room, there's not anything within walking distance so just bare that in mind when booking if you don't want to drive or can't as you won't be able to get dinner there and takeaway doesn't deliver to the area apparently. It's nice if you want to visit the city but don't want to be in the city. The room was nice but wasn't quite as clean as I would have liked, the bin had rubbish in from previous guests, there was quite a bit of dust and the fridge wasnt clean either (spilt milk inside and brown stuff) i was surprised to find that I couldn't choose what breakfast I wanted in the morning, never known that for a bnb, I would have killed for a big breakfast but was bought a tray that had 2 pastries, some yogurt in a recycled gu pot, 2 slices of toast, jam, marmalade and a glass of orange juice. It was nice enough for 1 morning but then finding out I had the same the 2nd day too was a little disappointing. The shower was a rainfall style and really nice but no shampoo or conditioner is included so bring your own! The bathroom is beautiful and I slept really well though and was comfortable, sat at the little table and done some art every day, nice quite area on top of the hill and that there are 4 dogs was a bonus. Overrall I enjoyed my stay but unfortunately wouldn't come back due to the breakfast and no fault of owners but lack of facilities in area.

A very comfortable stay in a well appointed room looking out to the barnโ€™s courtyard. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were excellent with liquid soap and shower gel provided. Tea and coffee making facilities were very welcome and the breakfast which was delivered to our room at a pre arranged time was plentiful and delicious. The surroundings are beautiful with views of rolling countryside and the ownerโ€™s horses and dogs were part of our welcoming party. It was extremely quiet and we slept well. Thank you Jaqueline and Steve!

Stayed for one night as a stopover between Scotland and East Sussex. Great location and very quiet country area. Good welcoming and friendly host. Continental breakfast served in the room. very comfortable and warm. Private parking. Only minor observation is an overhead shower which we ar not keen on.

Lovely location . Owner very helpful and friendly.
Good continental breakfast.
Room a tad small with no comfy chair to relax on only 2 kitchen chairs. Having said that you can relax on the bed .
25 minutes walk to the village with 2 pubs that do good food and beer .

We were so pleased that we found Hunger Barn for our 1 night stay near to Newark. ||||The accommodation is very nice situated round a courtyard each room (only 2) having its own outside seating area. Our room was very nicely furnished with a very comfy bed and good quality bedding. Our ensuite shower room was great quite spacious and very modern in fact the whole place looks fairly new although I understand that the rooms were created from old buildings some years ago.||||We loved our breakfast - continental and served to our room at a time of our choosing. We had orange juice, yoghurt, hot toast with butter and preserves, hot croissants and Danish pastries and it was all good quality. Nice coffee too!||||The bonus is that it all comes at a very good price โ€“ we would love to return one day.||||Enjoy it โ€“ we did!

Lovely warm welcome from the owners and pups as we checked in early a 12:00.

Room was modern, clean & spacious with complimentary tea, coffee & biscuits. The bathroom was luxurious with a waterfall shower and back lit mirror (which the Mrs was delighted about) and complimentary toiletries.

Freshly made pastries, toast & yoghurt for breakfast delivered to our door at our chosen time (if it wasnโ€™t for the rain weโ€™d have loved to have sat out in the picturesque courtyard)

Great stay whilst attending a wedding reception at Floral Media a few doors down the road.

Beautiful room in a beautiful location. Host was very welcoming and accommodating when we asked for a very late check in. Lovely breakfast of homemade porridge, fresh fruit, toast and preserves to accommodate our vegan diet. Coffee and tea in the room. If I could the Hunger Barn 6 stars I would!

Stayed here for a wedding over the weekend with my partner and the host was really welcoming. The bathroom was great with a nice rainfall-style shower installed and the bed was like being swallowed by a marshmallow, would definitely recommend The Hunger Barn if you're looking to stay in the area!
