My wife and I spent two nights here prior to flying home to Australia. We loved the farmhouse and found Margot and Dick to be the loveliest hosts. The room was very spacious with all mod cons. Knowing the room was built before Australia was even discovered made it even more special! The breakfasts were fantastic with a wide choice of food available. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

We loved this B&B. It’s a real gem, chocolate box kind of place, whether you are passing through or exploring the area.|The bed was spacious and comfortable. Margot was very accommodating and left us cake and gave good advise about where to go and attractions. The breakfast was delicious with homemade bread for the toast and locally sort produce. The dogs were well behaved, the stars were fantastic to look at on the clear night we had and we managed a swim in the pool. Perfect and Idyllic. Will definitely go back when in the area.

We were on a 3-day family cycle ride and this was our first stopover and quite possibly the highlight of our trip! Only our youngest was prepared to brave the chill of the swimming pool (it being only May!) but the setting of the house and garden was stunning and a beautiful place to relax. The bedrooms were lovely, clean and characterful (with a choice of beds for the boys and I lost count of the number of wash basins, in addition to the two bathrooms!) and we were treated more like family friends than paying guests, though not crowded in any way. We had booked dinner in advance (to save extra peddling!) and Margot couldn’t have been more accommodating in finding the perfect home-cooked menu to appeal to our 2 boys. The 3 course meal (by an open log fire!) was absolutely delicious and even I was shocked by the amount we ate (I fear the cottage pie had been intended for 8 rather than 4 and Margot came out with extra cake when she realised the apple and black currant crumble was fast going the same way!!). Not that that stopped us tucking into a full English breakfast the following morning (and home-made-bread toast and home-made preserves). We all felt genuinely regretful saying goodbye to Margot and Dick and we very much hope to return (if they don’t fear we’d eat them out of house and home!).

Outstanding. Beautiful thatched house in a lovely, quiet countryside but not too far from Avebury. Charming hosts, Breakfast served by the open fire. Home made bread and jams just delicious. What a treat!

Very pleasant and comfortable thatched farmhouse. Really great breakfasts with home-baked bread. ||||Plenty of excellent nearby places to eat in the evening. We were grateful for the suggestions that the owners made on where to eat and for good local walks.

I was doing a charity run from Cheltenham to Bournemouth and I stayed overnight here on route. These lovely people came out when I reached their place after a 33 mile run that day. They fed me tea and cake on arrival, gave me a run down of their farmhouse. I ate out that night but they were helpful in telling me where best to eat for what I wanted. They were very helpful and considerate, washed my clothes ready for the next day. They got up super early for when I needed breakfast which was a very excellent breakfast whilst also being good hosts. They had home grown/sourced food and the range of food was excellent. Simply outstanding! Margot & Dick are the consummate hosts & breakfast by the open fire was amazing. The homemade bread & preserves tantalized the tastebuds and the accommodations in this gorgeous thatched house exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!

Outstanding bed-and-breakfast in the gorgeous countryside of the United Kingdom. A little out-of-the-way but if you want quiet and comfort and clean environment with friendly host this is the place to go. Spent two nights there and wish I could’ve stayed more.
