We stayed here for one night this week, a very quirky place to stay overlooking the Medway, absolutely beautiful sunrise in the morning. Warm and cosy and a comfy bed, I’ve taken off one star as it’s not clear there is no breakfast included and I think it’s overpriced without anything offered and when you read other reviews they say how good the breakfast is so I was a bit disappointed but we found somewhere by the cathedral that was delicious 😋. I probably wouldn’t stay here again but it was a good stay. Be aware that although it says free parking you have to park in a car park for the marina and then you have a 5 minute walk and very steep steps upto your room, unfortunately I had a bad knee so was a bit difficult but I managed it.

We have just returned home from the most enjoyable long weekend break in Rochester for the Christmas markets, our accommodation was top notch, very comfortable and spotlessly clean with our hosts Jeremy and Eunha absolutely charming with their young family, we would highly recommend!!! Only slight downside is, it was a good 30min walk through some dark terrain to get to the town, but those that cant manage the walk, Taxies are easily available at an average cost of £7:50. We booked the family room for 2 adults and 2 children and found the boat to be charming in terms of its history and the room itself. It's clear that the owners have taken great pride in the restoration of the boat and we could not fault the ambience of the room and the facilities it offered such as children's books, well presented en suite bathroom, good sized tv and free wi fi. The views of the river and Rochester castle were lovely and the kids enjoyed watching the ducks in the morning. Jeremy was an amazing host and we were pleasantly surprised to find balloons, a card and present for our son whose 7th birthday we were away for. This was a lovely touch seeing as I had only requested a message in the room wishing him a happy birthday. Jeremy was accommodating and communicative with us after the booking was made, informing us of directions and on arrival he told us about local amenities. We hope to be able to go back another time, possibly in the summer as I can imagine the deck to me a great spot to watch the river in the sunshine, but despite the freezing weather the whole area looked beautiful covered in frost. Thanks for an amazing stay.

Very scenic location and a fascinating old boat. The owners are very friendly and make you feel at home. Breakfasts are superb. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs as noise from the motorway starts at 5 in the morning. Very good pub, the White Horse, in walking distance with excellent food (try the Kentish smokies), good beer, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere.

Fantastic B&B! Location is great, close enough to the city centre but it feels remote due to the surroundings. Boat has a traditional atmosphere, but has all facilities needed. Staff is super friendly, really recommended!

Das alte Schiff ist sehr liebevoll zu einer hochoriginellen Unterkunft ausgebaut, das umgebende Wasser hat eine unmittelbar beruhigende Wirkung (trotz der Autobahnbrücke in der Nähe!), und man erlebt den Wechsel zwischen Ebbe und Flut. Das Besitzerpärchen ist sehr nett, und durch die separate Lage der beiden Zimmer auf dem Oberdeck hat man nicht das Gefühl, in einen anderen privaten Bereich einzudringen, wie in manchen anderen B&B's. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig. Sehr zu empfehlen!
