I’m so disappointed to say we got scammed by this “hotel”. If you sort reviews by newest and scroll back, you can see this location used to be wonderful guest house owned by a couple. It seems like a management company bought it and have converted it into a motel but have kept the 4-star classification which is a blantant lie and is likely violating UK guidelines on hotel classifications.

To reiterate, this is not a boutique hotel. It’s not a hotel at all. There is no reception, no front desk, no way to get in contact with anyone. There’s no common area, no way to get fresh water except the bathroom sink. No daily housekeeping. It’s an old house converted into tiny rooms - nothing more.

For pros, the location is great in quieter part of Brighton in Kemptown with lots of yummy restaurants nearby. It’s very close to the beach, Brighton Pier, and The Lanes. Our bathroom seemed much newer than our room and, while tiny, was very functional with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The room was also very clean when we arrived and the cleaning staff very friendly when we passed in the hallway.

Otherwise, things were pretty grim. Our room was extremely small with poor choice of furniture so there’s almost no place to walk once our bags were in the room. The bed was very uncomfortable. The WiFi is absolutely terrible - do not try to remote work here. The staff was impossible to get in touch with - I had to use AirBnB even though we didn’t book there. The staff was mostly unreponsive and unhelpful when we raised the WiFi problem. We had to spend over a £100 on a coworking space to have functional internet which we could have spent on a much nicer hotel. The building was also extremely hot even though it was only 18C most days. Us and other guests we saw were suffering and taking respite outside.

This is a motel - if you can book for cheap I would stay here but otherwise skip it.

It is with great regret that I must report how upset I was to find that the hotel INNit Cavalaire in Brighton was NOT as advertised. Reviews on Booking.com listed it as a 9.0 star hotel with delicious breakfast. This was not at all true in my experience. First, when I arrived, I could not gain entrance. I had to be let in by another guest. The front door was locked with no person in sight. When I finally reached an official person on the phone, after gaining entry, that person was exceptionally rude. THE HOTEL HAS NO RECEPTION, NO WELCOME AND DEFINITELY NO DELICIOUS BREAKFAST! To me, this was an AirBnB, not a hotel. If it had been advertised as such, then I would not have booked it.

My expectations were quite high due to the fact that this hotel is listed as a 4-stars hotel and the reviews are very good. Many reviews refer to the exceptional breakfast, but to make one thing clear: *you won't get any breakfast here!*

But let's start from the beginning. To open the door, you need to enter a code, but the numpad is invisible, unless you know how make it visible. It took some time to figure out, how to cover the pad to make the numbers appear. During this time, no one was available, not by phone and not by knocking on the door.
The next surprise was the room. We had a room in the basement, which was very small. Luckily we had at least a window, but you couldn't see through it because it was frosted glass. And you couldn't lock it..
When we opened the window, we had a nice view on the pipes, where wastewater from all rooms flowed through I guess. So we were informed every time someone took a shower or used the toilet. Additionally the whole building is poorly soundproofed, so every night we woke up due to loud noises. In quiet moments we couldn't sleep any better, because the room was very warm.

We wrote an email to the owner and asked for another room but we never got an answer. In general we never saw any stuff members who weren't from the cleaning stuff. No reception, no welcome, no service at all.

We made the best out of it, at least the hotel is very close to bus stations and sights. But for nearly 600£ for 4 nights, I would never stay here again and absolutely don't recommend this hotel at all.

The location and the room were both great. However, we chose this hotel just because they offered a (allegedly great) breakfast. Instead, we almost invade someone’s room thinking it was the breakfast hall. It was nowhere to be found! We tried calling and knocking on the door that’s meant to be a substitute for a reception and nothing.

I stayed in room 10.This accommodation is independently owned by 2 amazing people. They are very welcoming and make you feel at home.|This is located about 500 metres, if that from Brighton Beach. It is close enough to all the area has to offer,but fat enough away for a.good nights rest. |The food is always fresh and locally sourced as far as I am aware. They take pride in preparing everything at the time and deliver some of the best.|This hotel stood out for me with its individual style.|Vesna & Jamal, Thank-you so much for looking after me this week. You are both great people with welcoming hearts.|

Beautifully decorated boutique guest house . Lots of lovely art . The room was great and fully equipped & spotless ! It’s hard to get a good value hotel in Brighton for one night so definitely staying here again !!! The owners seemed nice . We didn’t stay for breakfast but lots in the area .

Beautiful, homely hotel with impeccable hospitality and one of the finest breakfasts I've had (delicious, homemade, seasonal). The rooms are lovely and feature thoughtful practical touches making the most of small space, including the quietest fan ever. The linens are quality. At every opportunity they were happy to make things as convenient as possible for us. Thank you for having us!

With Vesna, our host, being so warm and inviting, we felt so much at home in this small but somewhat quirky hotel full of original artwork and decor. Our room was spacious comfortable and very tidy not to mention the excellent breakfast prepared by our host with lots of options. Within reach of the Brighton beach and the vibrant Brighton night life. Highly recommend. Will re-visit for sure!
