Just back from staying at ivy cottage, we were attending a wedding at the nearby gaynes park. Kelly the new owner was very professional, we originally booked with the previous owners, but when Kelly took over recently she called us to let us know, and made sure that we were still happy with all the arrangements. She was kind enough to organize cabs to and from the wedding venue for us, and made us very welcome.||The little cabin rooms that are in the grounds are very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very very nice. The only thing we would change would be the sign outside! Just needs to be a bit bolder! We drove past a couple of times, but once we were there it was worth the drive. Would defiantly recommend staying at ivy cottage.

We stayed at Ivy Cottage for a family wedding nearby. The little cottages are lovely and the grounds are beautiful. We were given a family room which was clean and spacious. However, no extras like toiletries so remember to bring your own. ||||Unfortunately, I didn't sleep well at all as got woken up by a man shouting and looking at me through the window at around 3 in the morning. Obviously, after that, I couldnt sleep. I spoke to the owner in the morning about it and she said that it was her drunk neighbour that was looking for his sister!||||Other then the lack of sleep that I had, everyone else in my family sleet well. Also the breakfast we had was lovely, although you have to order this the night before

I booked Ivy Cottage for my parents one week stay from Australia as we didn't have enough room to accommodate them comfortably at ours. My parents were blown away by the hospitality and service provided and I am eternally grateful for them making them feel right at home. I can't recommend Ivy Cottage enough!

Although I spent a single night only during a business trip, I think that this place is amazing. Comfortable, cozy, warm and Diane is a wonderful and kind host. The breakfast was delicious and I regret that I couldn't stay longer. Maybe next time! Definitely worth visiting.

Although we arrived much earlier than originally agreed we were given a warm and friendly welcome. Access to the property was fully explained and made it very easy for us to come and go as we pleased. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and the breakfast excellent. We have stayed in many bed & breakfast accommodations but this has been the best and we hope to return in the spring.

Ivy cottage- a beautiful setting with cute individual cottages sleeping up to four people with everything you need. Surroundings are beautiful..... BUT ||||Owners are rude, unprofessional and should clearly not be running a BnB- they ruined our evening by stereotyping and misjudging us.||||The lady owner didn't do anything but moan at us from the start and her husband was very rude patronising and even came across intimating at one point saying he would rather throw us out then have us there. I wouldn't mind this treatment if we were acting up but we had literally just arrived and they had clearly mistaken a quiet girls night in for women aged late twenties- with a rowdy bunch of teenage girls who was trashing the place.||||Once the problem was resolved and they agreed to let us stay we managed to have an average night and the next morning at breakfast the lady owner did apologise but they had already ruined our night and it's something our friend who's hen it was will never forget! ||||It was such a shame as we had really been looking forward to it as it was a surprise for our friend and the surroundings were stunning and even though we still gave her a lovely send off she was gutted with the argument at the start and couldn't relax and now it will always remain a bad memory to her!

We went for a short little break and the Ivy cottage was recommended and it didn't disappoint! It is in a lovely little part of Essex, great for walking, bike riding and visiting one of the local hostelries.||If you want a lovely relaxing break, have a look at this little gem.||Regards||Sean & Lin

New management couldn't have been more helpful! Full English was amazing! Really friendly owner! We attended at wedding at gaynes park and it was ideal to stay there. Highly reccomend it! We had the studio and the bathroom was amazing!!!
