Ivy Cottage B&B Retreat - Bridgwater

Hi eveyone I have been staying at Ivy cottage B&B for over 4 years now, and I've just got home again after staying with Diana and Chris for the April rebirth Month and I have to say it was so delightful.

The welcome is always warm and friendly and the three cats are also very entertaining.
The different rooms are lovely, I normally get the room just at the top of the stairs, which I like because of the delightfully designed bathroom, which has a Powerful easy to use shower.
Yhe Earth friendly shower body washes and shampoos are included are an added bonus

The well presented different styles of drying towels add that extra quality finish, it makes it that little extra Special and of course cosy and relaxing making my stays idealic for peace and quiet.

Breakfast is always lovely and when in season raspberries and strawberries added from the garden. 😉

Diana and Chris have become really good friends over the years and both are fun and friendly and quite highly intelligent.

They will both go out of there way to help you and advice you if you are looking for adventure or fancy a delightful resturant for evening meals.
There local knowledge is brilliant as both are link to the Glastonbury Symposium which covers Crop circles to Stonehenge and many other interesting subjects. The Glastonbury Symposium is in its 35th year this year, so it is a very well established event and very respected if you fancy something different.

Myself Diana and Chris have become lovely friends over the years and I have to say they are both delightful caring beautiful Souls that I love to come and stay with because they feel like my second family.

A 5* review doesn’t do the Ivy Cottage justice!! We cannot falter anything, not one thing, Diana & Chris were two of the nicest people we’ve had the pleasure of meeting! From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the wonderful Diana whose warm & friendly demeanour had us hooked straight away!
We checked in briefly before heading off to my sisters wedding, upon our return later, slightly merry, Diana & Chris’ dynamics topped off our evening for the absolute better!
We had everything we could possibly need even if we didn’t need it, it was there.
The bed was really comfortable and after a lovely nights sleep we went downstairs to a continental breakfast which included an array of cereals, homemade jams & spreads, we were made tea & toast to order along with a beautiful fruit salad, all grown in the garden and a honey yoghurt.
Accompanied by Peanut the cat it was a perfect healthy breakfast that made our day!
We definitely recommend this gorgeous smelling cottage not only for its charm but for the hosts alone!
Now just trying to think of something to do close by in the future so we can stay again!

OK its taken me a week to write this review as I did not want everybody to know how good it is and stop me from getting back
This is without a doubt the most relaxing break away I've undertaken its in the middle of nowhere there was no TV in my room so I could just lay there read a book and listen to the birds and horses
Next the breakfast I love a good fry up
However this was not a option here so I had to have fresh fruit. Yougert a huge choice of cereal and wholemeal toast
Dear I say it one of the best and healthy breakfast I would never order this but am so glad I did although it was only a night away as I was working nearby it felt more like a retreat I feel I've made 2 new friends and look forward to coming back

This cottage is utterly gorgeous. It is so peaceful and tranquil, a very relaxing place to stay. The owners, Di and Chris, are extremely accommodating and kind. The gardens are lovely and the fruit in the homemade jams and some of the delicious fruit salad is grown there. Highly recommended in every way.

Diana & Chris were the most lovely hosts for our overnight stay in their beautiful home. We were made to feel welcome from the minute we walked through the door. Very helpful with suggestions of places to visit nearby, which was great as I was waiting for my husband to arrive from cycling (end to ender!) I spent a few hours in nearby Glastonbury. Breakfast was delicious and set us both up for the day. Highly recommended🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Stayed 1 night. Very warm welcome with a cup of tea offered immediately on arrival. Parked in the village just a minute's walk away with no problem. Very comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, fresh bedding. Beautiful seascape paintings on the bedroom wall. Plentiful towels.
Strong and consistent wifi connection. (No TV in the room which might be important to some but not for me.)
Shared bathroom has power shower with abundant hot water and again spotlessly clean. No issues sharing with other guests.
Breakfast consists of fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt, toast, juices, tea and coffee. Perfect to set you up for the day.
Di and Chris go out of their way to make you feel at home and welcome.
Very good experience, great value for money and really enjoyed chatting with Di. I would definitely stay again.

What a true gem Ivy Cottage is. My boyfriend has booked it purely for the location and the hot tub not paying attention to the description. Little did we know the place would cater to our every need. Vegetarian food, organic produce and very environmentally friendly which I was blown away by, living my life by the same principles.The minute we stepped through the door I immediately felt relaxed and at ease. There is this magical energy and the house just oozes character and charm. Di's and Chris's attention to details and their vibrant personalities added another dimension to our already special weekend for which I am the most grateful about. Oh and let's not forget the furry member of the family who kept us entertained. We would both highly recommend staying here. It's not your average b&b, it's a spiritual retreat with numerous cups of tea or coffee.

All I can say is WOW!

Myself & my sister stayed here overnight for a wedding in bridgwater and I hadn't even parked the car when Chris was out offering refreshments! The B&B is located in an idyllic little village with plenty of old world charm just a shame we didn't have time to explore. The B&B is set within beautiful gardens that I just wanted to stay and watch the wildlife! Ivy Cottage has loads of history and this reflects in the charming decor and quirkiness of the building. Diana & Chris we're the perfect hosts, there when you needed them but not in your face if you didn't. Nothing was too much trouble and Chris even dropped us to our wedding venue to save us a taxi fare (never been in an electric car before)! We really did enjoy our very brief stay and would love to go back again so we can enjoy the cottage, surrounding countryside and just to have a banter again with Diana & Chris as they're we're such great company! Thoroughly recommend Ivy Cottage and it's wonderful hosts!!
